Sounds like the calipers are sticking wearing the pads down cause of brake drag. the best thing to do is put new calipers on it with new pads, that should get you going again ,hope this helps you, thanks robert b.

1986caravan want gain speed

when caravans have been stood over winter try not to leave it with the hand brake on. if it has been stood with it on then you willhave to release the brakes yourself. it could be dragging because of this. do the wheels get hot after a run ? that will point to brake pads stuck on. get under and bang the drums with a hammer to release them

What is causing both front brakes to lock up

check master cylinder not releasing the brakes. the brake flex hose for each wheel may have collapsed internally. the way to find out is when the brakes don`t release loosen the bleeder screw on the brake caliper if brake fluid squirts out or runs out and the brakes release then the flex hose has collapsed. if the brakes don`t release and no fluid squirts out then the calipers are seized and need replacing. the shuddering is an indication the brake rotors are probably warped and need replacing.

Front Rims are very hot after short trips, too hot to touch, what coudl cause this?

Dear Mr. Tom the reason which is causing you rims to become hot after a short trip is either you are using too much your brakes or you have problem with your brakes master cylinder or the ABS accumulator,or calipers or pressure hoses are a semi blocked and on releasing the brake pedal the fluid does not return immediately to master cylinder and are going slowly-slowly therefore keep the calipers pushing the pads against the discs and are getting hot. My advice is to jack the car on a stand and start the car pump the brakes and release and immediately rotate the wheel to see whether is hard turning. If so open the bleeder to release the fluid and check again. If the wheel spin freely then are your pressure hoses.. Good luck.

2000 Chevy Silverado 1500 4x4 New Rotors, Calipers, Pads, and rubber lines, why do all four brakes not release completely and they get hot?

I would think it is something going on with the master cylinder or booster. Even the ABS could be affecting it.

The right front brake drags and gets hot

When it drags, loosen the bleeder, if it releases, the hose is bad, if it does not release, the caliper is bad.
