Seems like the car is staying in "ACC" (accesory key position)

Mine doing same thing, seems like when u turn the key off and take it out, the vehicle is staying in "ACC" position. odometer stays on, oil light, seat belt light and sometimes battery light. it has something to do with the BFC BATT (10A) fuse, all though the fuse itself is not blown. when i take out the bfc batt fuse, the key positions work fine. dash lights off like normal when key is placed in OFF. BUT with the bfc batt fuse removed, the car will not run. it will turn over, fire and then immideatly die out. putting the bfc batt fuse back in, OFF key position is now like ACC (with dash lights on). the cars starts and runs fine with the bfc batt fuse in, altought the check engine light remains on. i was wondering if anyone knew what exactly the bfc batt fuse controls??

BFC that body function controller. BFC batt fuse controls .the body function controller .its part of the PCM.the BFC controls anti theft system. your interior lights -drl lights- radio -door locks.if your check engine light is on take it to dealership.because your BFC and PCM works together. your car could shut off. that unsafe.when you on a busy highway.you have electrical problem.not a home fix.

I just bought a 2006 Impala (I dont know if its an LS??) I can see the dummy lights for abs & traction but the maunual says they should light up for a second when starting the ingnition. Mine does not...

Usually many models with different equipment, they use the same dash to reduce parts inventories, as a result, you may have unlit "accesories" because your vehicle does not have them. The vehicle has a self check phase when you first turn the key to the "Run" position. Everything you car is equipped with that has a monitor light will light up. you may see bleedover light slighlty illuminating things that are not in your vehicle, but they may be used in other vehicle trim levels. You will know for certain when a light bulb is directly beneath the indicated item..

If the lights light up for traction control for example; when you first turn the key to the Run position, your car is equipped with it. If it has it and the light did not light when the wheels spin, there may be a sensor malfunction that should be checked..

I turn the key off and the accesories remain hot draining the battery. Took the ignition switch apart and it checks out OK. How do I fix this??

If the accessories remain hot after you "remove" the switch the tuere is a short in the wiring between the positive and the acc. wire

Key locks in the ignition in the ACC position. can't take key out

when you turn key to acc pos that is telling the ignition to go into a accessory mode which runs the radio, wipers etc... but it doesnt allow the ignition circuit to run, and the key in most vehicles will not be able to come out, this is a security protection so that you do not leave accessories on that will drain the battery. The ignition key should only be able to be removed in the OFF position.

My 2001 chevy malibu will not start

Try this before you go any further. Remove the battery cable for atleast five minutes, reinstall battery cable, try to start the vehicle, it should fire for about a second, when it does DO NOT turn the key to the off position, leave the ignition in the run position for five to twenty minutes, the security light should either go off or stay on, not flashing. Try starting. If this doesn't work contact a GM dealer and they can walk you through the reset procedure. Thanks and good luick with your repair.

My clock light stays on after turn car off... how do I fix this?

try to remove the fuse , usually the light is on when the key is in ACC. double check the key position . turn it to lock position. Or the ACC wiring is still positive even though the key in lock. In this case shorted wire is occur.

Radio will not turn off when I turn key off

Normal operation of the Jetta Radio, is that it will stay on, when the key is turned off, however it will turn off when the key is removed from the ignition. Mine functions the same way. I guess it is so that you can change from The Engine Running to the ACC position without your CD stopping, or your Radio turning off. IF yours is behaving differently than this, let me know, otherwise I would say that your Radio is working properly.

Set the keyless entry

TS06 DEC 05 Keyless Entry - Transmitter(s) Inoperative

There was a recall in DEC. 05 for this particular vehicles remote transmitter system....though im not sure if they would do service free of charge now...

Moving along...if you have no working transmitter, you have to do the following to get it working again:

* Ensure vehicle audio PIN number is known or audio PIN security system is deactivated prior to battery disconnection.
* Ensure a door is open
* Disconnect the negative battery cable, wait minimum 5 seconds then reconnect
* Within 20 seconds of reconnecting the battery cable, insert the keyin ignition then cycle the ignition key from the "ACC" position to the"ON" position 20 times, leaving the key in the "OFF" position after thetwentieth turn.
* the vehicle's indicators will flash 20 times to indicate successfulentry. NOTE: Should the indicators fail to flash, wait 5 seconds thenquickly turn the ignition switch from the "ACC" to "ON" position 10times, leave the ignition "OFF" after the 10th turn and wait 15 secondsthen recycle the ignition switch 20 times.
* the vehicle's indicators will flash 20 times to indicate successful entry.
* within 10 seconds of the indicators having ceased flashing, press the button once on each transmitter.
* turn the ignition key to the "ON" position to lock in and exit from the programming mode.

And if you have even 1 transmitter that does work, its not nearly as difficult:

* ensure a door is open
* remove key from ignition
* lock the doors using the transmitter
* unlock the doors using the transmitter

Within 20 seconds of unlocking, insert key in ignition, turn theignition key from the "ACC" position to the "ON" position 20 times, leaving the key in the "OFF" position after the twentieth turn.

The vehicle's indicators will flash 20 times to indicate successful entry.

Within 10 seconds of the indicators having ceased flashing, press thebutton once on each transmitter. Once finished, turn the ignition keyto the "ON" position to lock in and exit from the programming mode.

Hope this helped,
Jem
