Blowing fuses for windows on Ford Focus Station 2000 1.8

A couple of weeks ago I put my car in for a checkup because it always displayed the "Charge" light and the dashboard tended to just die on me. They told me that a wire had come loose that resulted in the car charging the battery non-stop. Well they fixed that and I was well happy with that but now it keeps blowing the fuse for my windows. I can't remember the number of the fuse but it's a 15 amp one and I've even tested putting in a 20 amp one but it blew that one also. Any help would be greatly appreciated as electrical stuff on cars is really not my strong suite. Oh and yeah, it's a Ford Focus Station Wagon 1.8 model 2000

The alternator in a car have a regulator package inside it. It not only consist of the regulator, but the rectifier as well. Rectifier rectify the ac produce by the alternator into dc current. Thereby charging your battery. The regulator regulates charging of course. All these are inside the alternator. If you ever take apart one it is the hard plastic inside, which is sometimes fastened to an aluminum "heat sink" to dissipate heat. These things are made of semiconductors. When semiconductors fail they pass current both ways, therefore creating a short. The wire that broke loose probably got overheat by a failing circuit inside that regulator causing it to heat up and break loose. They just connected it back on there, but I don't blame them because they are mechanic not electronic technician, which I am one, and also a mechanic as well. These explaination may seem new to you, and infact very few mechanics know exactly how an alternator works. Specially the semiconductor inside. Try removing that wire again, and if that made the window issue dissapear, we nailed it. Changing the alternator is the solution. If you can buy just that regulator packages and rebuild you alternator by changing it, it would be much cheaper. They are just fastened in there by little screws or bolts. These are my analysis based on your information. Also operate the windows to see if a particular window makes the fuse blows. Thanx for asking a question, and I am here always ready to give you answer as accurate as possible.

Ford focus brake light failure !!!

1 - are you SURE theyre the right bulbs! - if theyre too bright they can blow the fuse, if theyre the wrong type of bulb they will blow the fuse.. best get the bulbs direct from ford, they are always in stock, so are the proper fuses.
2 - theres a center brakelight isnt there? check this bulb too for proper wattage and size/shape
Other than that maybe the wiring in the boot is damaged and shorting?? -----

Broken Ford Focus 3 door 04 reg Window Regulator. Can I replace myself?

If you search Google for Ford Focus Window Regulator replacement, you should find a great deal of information. The front doors are different from the rear (sedan, station wagon) doors. I've replaced the rear window regulator and it wasn't hard but the front window regulator is very different from the rear regulator.
