There are two ways to hook up an immobilizer on a car. One is to break the continuity of the ignition system power suplly. This would result in an engine that cranks but wont start. Another way is to break the continuity of the starting relay. If an installer knows what he is doing he would wire it so that the relay wont get power to the coil. This would result in a car that don't even click when you turn the key so I doubt it is the immobilizer. If the starting relay clicks, the contacts on the relay might be worn out, and not getting enough current to drive the solenoid. One way to check this is by using a volt meter. And check to see if there are voltages going to the starter solenoid, when the key is turned. It should be almost the same as battery voltage. If the voltage going there are no voltage going to the solenoid, or the voltage going there is low, for exmple 8 volts then the contact on the relay is bad. Remember this is if the relay clicks. If the click is loud, and coming from the starter itself but it wont turn, replace the starter, that means the starter solenoid is bad, or if you can buy just the solenoid it maybe cheaper, but you have to know how to take a starter apart, I dont recommend that tho. Good luck these should solve the problem.

Car wont start

being 94' im sure it has high miles, cam and crank sensor common to fail over time do to wear and heat exposure. check the basic, make sure you getting fuel and sparks. fuel pump only work as long the engine is turning over due to the crank sensor sense the flywheel turning. crank sensor may be faulty. no sparks, check coil make sure is good and putting out 12v, auto zone can test it for free. good coil, than check cam sensor, cam sensor senses the cam turning and tell the ecu to tell the coil to disperse the sparks to the plugs. cam and crank sensors, there no way of testing it but replacing the unit unless you have the special equipment to test it; both is fairly cheap to replace, check ebay.

First: alarm went off on its own.(mazda 6 2003). Now when locking and unlocking car sometimes indicators flash and sometimes not. Now red immobaliser light is flashing on dash when driving, then stops...

there is often a small back up battery in the immobiliser unit itself, if you can locate this unit and replace the battery with the ignition on / engine running, then it should not need recoding and work fine after that. The other thing that could be wrong is the key battery (if the fob has one) or the transponder chip in the key head. If the key signal is low the immobiliser lamp will light during driving, but this does not explain the alarm going off. That is more likely either a poor vehicle battery, alarm / immobiliser back up battery, or another electrical fault such as water leakage into a tail-light or even the alarm unit itself when it rains. A lot of alarms are voltage sensing and when the vehicle is parked they will alarm if the battery voltage changes for any reason, though not during driving so the battery in the immob is my first choice to look at.

the only way to bypass the immobalizer if it is that is to open either the driver door or the boot with the key.
other wise you have to remove the immobalizer and fit an aftermarket one.
