Don't use it. If you replaced the compressor, did you vacuum out the system. If there is moisture in the system, ice will form causing damage to the a/c system. There should be only 1 pound of R143a and the there should be a pressure static reading of 80-105psi (engine not running). With the engine running and a/c max and ran high, the low readings should be 25-35psi and the high should be 200-350psi. If the readings are off, then there is a problem in the system and you may have to replace the compressor or the expansion valve and accumulator. Good luck and hope this helps. Keep me posted, be glad to help.

How much? I wouldn't use it. if you are ok with a little pollution then release it back in to the air and start over or just bleed a bit off and check it. but other than that go to a shop and they will probably charge to do the whoel procedure again. hope this helps

Did you add the proper amount of oil? You may need to add some to the system. Probably too late though if its noisy. Did you remove excess refrigerant?

you say it will blow cold and hot air for only a few minutes. You don't say but I assume you mean will blow cold a few min. when turned on AC max , blow hot only a few min. when turned to heater hot. Assuming thats the situation and you say AC charged and shows good on the low side -you should charge the AC to a full charge on the low side will cause problems with the AC air compressor kicking on and off. I suggest while the engine is running and turned to AC cold max watch the AC air compressor clutch to see if it does indeed kick on and off if so charge completely. As far as the heater make certain you coolant is all the way to the top and the best way to do this is when engine is completely cold remove radiator cap and fill completely and completely close cap then fill overflow container just to the cold level. That should fix your problem.

If the car was retro fitted with R134a this was a common problem. There was a low side pressure sensor that needs to be changed. R134a runs different pressures than the r12.. When you go down the road the condenser cools off the system and the pressure drops below the minimum pressure. You need to make sure that the system is fully charged, not just cold to the feel. Both pipes coming out of the firewall need to be the same temp. this makes sure that the evaporator is flooded.
I hope this helped. Re-post if you need more info. Have a nice day and good luck.

the ac clutch relay is the problem. It is located in the under hood fuse box. It is a $10 part. The relay will make a clicking sound when activated but the contacts inside are burnt causing no electrical flow to the ac compressor. Simply unplug and replace. The relay is labeled M/G CLT .

replace or blow out the cabin air filter as well. It is located behind the glove box. Instructions are in your owners manual.

2003 Tiburon air conditioner won't blow cold air

Most likely your problem is the same as mine, which means you have a crack in your air compressor therefore no matter how full you fill the freon it will always drain (or blow) right out. Solution - get a new air compressor. Try to find one in a chop shop junk yard type place if you can do it yourself.

Alternate problem - freon can lose its charge. You can take it to just about any auto store and get the freon charged up for about $70. If that doesn't fix the problem it is likely the compressor.

A/c is blowing hot air

Hi

Wel I am not a mechanic or anything, but i haev had some experience with aircons. The one problem might be that there is a leak in the pipes. 9 out of ten times the leak is where the various pipes join. you can simply take a spaner and tighten them otherwise the leak maybe where the compressor is. if the pipes were blocked then it will not blow any cold air and you said it did blow cold air for a while. the way to find a leak is take soap water in a spray gun and spray the soap water in on the pipes and joints, this should blow a bubble where the leak is. however this can only work if you have gas in the compressor. so fill in more aircon gas first.
hope i am right.

Thanx

2001 Chevy Suburban rear a/c warm front ice cold

I believe there is a expansion valve located on the back part of the air conditioner on the back right side i believe that could be the problem. I think if I am understanding you correctly, your back air is not as cool as it should be or not cold at all. Might want to check this. If I am not understanding you correctly please let me know again what your problem is.

The ac stopped blowing cold air any suggestions as what it could be?

ok that could be a number of things.. first thing i would check if it does blow air and it just dont get cold is to recharge the ac system its self this can be bought at pretty much any dept sote like walmart k mart or your local auto parts store it may be out of freon btu with doign this you also need to knwo where to put it in at which id suggest a repiar manuel that can be bought also at your local parts store like advanced auto zone ect for your type car if that dotn help you could have a bad compressor for the ac system.. if it dont blow any air at all more than likely your blower has gone bad and will need to be replaced .. i assume youve checked all vacume hoses as well prior to this if not check those as well and make sure they all are properly connected and secure
