Car won't start.

I was driving down the highway and the car just shut down. Now it won't start at all. I just had a new fuel pump put in, new distributor cap, wires, plugs, etc. It's getting fuel but not firing. It's an LT1 engine, 5.7. Can you please help me. Thank you.

More info needed, battery dead? no,did it missfire first or just die?take the cap off the distributor, then take off the rotor. turn it over and look for burn marks, check the button inside the cap.both good?did it act gutless, no power, then die?more info needed

How to disable A fuel pump inertia switch (fuel cut off switch)

It's a simple on-off switch, and being an inertia switch no outside controls for it, so I would think you could just cut it out and splice the pump wires together. Do a good splice with solder.
Yours is obviously malfunctioning. Replace it or do away with it. Fords are the only vehicles with this safety feature, as far as I know.

Chevrolet Cavalier 2004 quits running while driving down the highway.

need to check fuel pressure, not just listen for pump to run, also check reading on coolant temp sensor, but sounds like fuel pump /filter issue. just because you hear pump run doesnt mean its putting our right amount of pressure. also check for plugged catylic convertor

I have a 1988 Dodge Dynasty that acts like it's vapor locking.

yes fuel pump is dying (it's old ) it will finnaly give up the ghost some day soon then engine won't run at all

common problem pump heats up and shuts off cools off and runs again cyclic

this all assumes you have kept up on changing the fuel filter at reg intervals too

Car just shut down on highway.. Was low on fuel , but nowhere close to empty.. Put more fuel in tank .. Car will start, run rough briefly and then shut down again .. Car is on the side of the highway and I...

Check vacuum hoses attached to engine intake manifold. See if any are loose or off their attachments. If it isn't a vacuum leak, odds are your fuel pump is bad. You can try swapping the fuel pump relay with a similar relay in your relay box, just in case your relay is going bad. I will stand by a little while for more questions.

Volvo will not start, no fuel pump sound

You should hear a hum from the gas tank when u turn the key to on for about 5 seconds, if not the pump is most likely bad, to replace the pump u must remove the fuel tank, remember to replace the fuel filter when u do the pump.

1989 toyota shut down wouldn't restart

Try the fuel pump relay. Next try a fuel pump. ( might be getting hott and shutting off.) Finally try a computer, ( i had that same problem and the car was shutting down on the highway ) I put a computer in it and it fixed it for good.
