Open the hood and look at the face af the compressor. When it is on you will see it spinning. If it comes on and off every two to three sec. the freon is low.If it does not come on it allso could be low or some other problem

I have a 2007 tahoe , this morning the ac was working fine and blowing cold air ,now that I turn on the ac it only blows hot air ...what can I do to get it fix ?

You could check to see if the compressor is running.. Thats the way things break.. they just stop working.. Take the car to an A/C shop and get an estimate to fix it.. Play dumb and let them tell you what is wrong. They will tell you what is wrong.. Might try 2 or more shops and see if they all tell you the same thing.. Might be as simple as the switch.. of maybe a Compressor or a compressor clutch.. If the compressor needs to be replace.. there is the compressor, dryer, expansion valve, flushing the system and replacing the R134. NOT CHEAP..

Broken ac

A/C dead.
is the compressor turning?????
only a glance at it tells you that, that is GOAL 1.
it must turn or there will be no cold air.
it has a electromagnetic clutch. if the clutch is disabled, 0volts
the compressor will be shut down.
so... is it?
there is a brain, that controls the compressor called by SUZ the AMP.
the amp is just A/C protection logic.
it cuts AC for about 6 reason, ill skip those until you tell
the story of the compressor actions.
there are 2 sides, electrics and Freon side.
we start with electrics first (permissive logic)

Air compressor locked up what alternative vehicle belt can i use to bypass the a/c compressor on a 1999 crown victoria

does the diagram of the belt routing on the core support say one with ac and one w\o ac? if so autozone can tell u, if not, they may tell u that you need to replace the ac compressor, or buy some thing that re routs it. you can also try to remove the compressor, that way its out of the way, and take a string, run it as it would go, and measure the string, that will tell u what size belt to get

Air conditioning compressor starts then stops.

How old is the vehicle? Some AC systems have a pressure sensor that tells the system if the refrigerant is low. If it is low, then the clutch for the compressor disengages from the drive belt so the the compressor does not run needlessly. This is to protect the compressor from unnecessary wear.

Blower for air conditioner works but no cold air comes out

it sounds like either you a/c compressor isnt working properly of you have a leak in the a/c system causing a loss of refrigerant. a way to see if your compressor is working properly is to open te hood and have someone sit in the car with the key on engine off and have them push the a/c button on and off. you should hear a definate click coming from the compressor. if you dont hear a click it would be because your compressor failed or there isnt enough refrigerant in the system for the compressor to come on. there are two pressure switches a low pressure switch that tells the compressor to come on once the pressure drops to a certain point. and a high pressure that tells the compressor to shut off once it reaches a certain pressure. you can try recharging the system yourself by going to your local auto parts store and buying a recharge kit. this may solve the problem but if it leaked off once, chances are its going to do it again so i would take it to a shop and have them test it for leaks.

Need to know how to tell if the compressor clutch is engaging in a 2001 Olds Bravada. It just got recharged and is still blowing warm air.

You will hear the AC compressor clicking on and off if working. If it clicks on and off all the time that tells you that the unit is low on freaon. If it clicks on and stays on the compressor is operating fine

The ac compressor runs and cools properly when temp is cool, but on warmer days it will run then kick out and will not kick back in for several hours later. All pressures are good...the freon charge is...

What year is the vehicle ? The A/C button on the control panel is a direct input to the PCM /ECM - engine computer . The PCM/ECM energizes the compressor clutch relay to engage the compressor .
