Air conditioner problem in a 2001 Isuzu Rodeo Sport

Can't figure out why ac clutch turned and then quit. It blows hot air. Told that it may be accum/drier that needs to be replaced. Supposed to be able to by pass accum/drier, but I am not sure which two wires to connect out of the three that are there. Also, once I figure that out and if the compressor engages and I can charge system, will that indicate that accum/drier needs replacing. It is 112 degrees here and my 16 yr old daughter can't drive this thing without air. Need help!

If your dryer is bad it will be frosted up on the bottom. It sounds like to me that is is low on freon you can add some if you have a manifold gauge set. or you can get a recharge kit at Wal-Mart the kit will have instructions with it read them first it will tell you where to hook up the hose
Hope this helps

Ac/heater not blowing any air at all in my '97 rodeo.

A mechanic would check for voltage at the blower motor, the resistor, the relay, and the fuse.

Ac fuse blowing, in 1996 isuzu rodeo

Disconnect wire to Air Conditioning Compressor and connect normal test light to wire, from engine harness(body)side. Fit new fuse and try air cond controls and switch, test light should light up and hopefully fuse wont blow indicating short in compressor clutch windings(replace compressor). If fuse blows while doing this test compressor might be ok and fault short some where else, fan speed resistor block, fan or control/switches, wiring.

A/c blows out hot air

Hi,
I had a similar problem with my Corolla. My compessor clutch wasn't engaging when I turned on the AC and the fuse was good. I suspected the worst and prepared to face a replacement of a compressor, but found out the fault was an AC relay switch.

This link from Autozone, will give you a picture and price of the switch:

http://www.autozone.com/autozone/catalog/parts/partsShelf.jsp?displayName=Relay+-+A/C+Clutch&currentPage=1&categoryDisplayName=Electrical+%26+Lighting&navValue=15701663&itemId=1663-0&parentId=57-0

My relay switch was located under the hood. Check your users manual.
I hope this is your fix... a compressor is costly!
Good luck...

2005 KA blowing hot air out when set to cold

start car.turn on air conditioner high cool .raise hood look to see if the compressor clutch is engaged and running.if yes your ac air door could be stuck closed or the air door vacuum actutator not receiving vacuum.a vacuum line is broken or off. or the control switch bad.that control the AC and heater mode. if compressor clutch is not engagged.check for power at compressor clutch.if yes compressor clutch coil open. or the air conditioner refrigerant R 134 is low take car to a private garage with a good reputation. they wont be expensive as the dealership.have them hook car air conditioner to a manifold gauge set to check your refrigerant low side and high side pressure.
