How do you replace the lower ball joints on a 2000 windstar?

According to Autozone.com, you must replace the whole control arm. Here is their procedure:
NOTE do not begin the removal procedure unless a new strut-to-lower arm nut, a new ball joint pinch bolt/nut and a new lower arm-to-front subframe bolt/nut are available.

  1. Remove or disconnect the following:
    NOTE
Do not use a hammer to separate the ball joint from the front wheel hub and spindle.

  2. Place the steering wheel in the unlocked position.
    NOTE
Do not allow the halfshaft to move outward. Over-extension of the halfshaft joint could result in separation of internal parts, causing failure of the halfshaft joint.
  3. Remove or disconnect the following:
    NOTE
Use extreme care to not damage the ball joint boot seal.

How to repair/replace upper and lower ball joints in the front passenger side

first make sure you have the right tools on hand. the upper will be riveted on, so a grinder and air hammer will be helpful, you willl need a ball joint separator, and a ball joint press for the lower, a few good solid stands. on a 4wheel drive it is easier to remove the knuckle, better get a manual

How do i stop the squeaky front suspenion

The most common source of front suspension squeek for your vehicle a ball joint that has not been lubricated with each oil change. I would liberaly lubricate the upper and lower ball joints and re-evaluate your noise issue. While this may temporarily resolve the noise concern, the lower ball joints will most likely require replacement.
Good luck.

How to change lower ball joint

your going to have to remove the wheel and tire. all brake componets, remove the steering knuckle, this will give you acces to the lower ball joint if this is a rivited on joint drill the rivets out, if it is pressed in unit take a hammer and pound on the top of the joint and it will come out, to install you will need a ball joint press, if its riveted the new joint will come with bolts to replace the factory rivets.

I've replaced many ball joints, and never used a torque wrench. Just make them tight. If yours are the type with cotter pins, then you make it tight and slip in the cotter pin.

How do I replace a lower balljoint on a 97 GMC Jimmy 4WD?

Unless you have some kind of a press to press the old one out and the new one in, better take and have it done.
Need to take the tire off
brake calipar and rotor and bracket off
take the 4wd locking hub assembly out
there is nuts and locking rings in there
pull the axel. Pull cotter pin from nut on ball joint stud, take off nut, separate ball joint from steering knuckle with seperator tool, then you need to press out the joint, sometimes the top joint has to be taken off too. It's a job, and you need the right tools. If you don't get the 4wd assembly back the same way, you have 4wd problems.
