This should be easier for you, just shake the recharge can as your recharging. When the compressor starts up, stop shaking the can, your going to need more then one car if the system is that low. The average system takes 1 pound and the recharge can is 12 ounce unless you bought the 6 ounce can. Keep me posted, be glad to help and do not over charge.

Ac compressor doesn't turn on

Have you tried putting a wire jumper (paper clip works) in the compressor cycling switch in the low side of the system?

Ac compressor good but wont start

You must have a leak, the compressor will not run if the system is low on charge, the charge carries the oil to lube the parts of the system. Also do an electrical jumper of the compressor cycling/pressure sensing switch.

I have repleced my ac compressor and vacume the system. however the compressor will only engage with A JUMPER WIRE. what else should i check?

this is just a thought, i suspect that you have a clogged orfice tube filter. it will not accept a charge if the filters clogged. any autozone or advance auto parts has the complete manual for $28.00 BUT if the manuals open, you can research the manual instore for free. just ask the clerk for position of the orfice tube filter in the a/c system if the compressor only enguages with jumper wire suggests the systems low on freeon,or a clogged orfice tube filter.technical solution::restriction in the a/c system. thank you for choosing

How does a person short out the low presure switch on a 1995 cadillac a/c? i would really appreciate any help on this.

The low pressure switch is located on the accumulator, and you only need to remove the connector to the low pressure switch and jumper the wire connector to by-pass the low pressure switch, however I would not recommend doing so because it is there to keep the AC compressor from being damaged due to running it low on R-134a.

If you are trying to charge the AC system you do not need to by-pass the low pressure switch, just start the vehicle and turn the AC on to maximum, then charge the AC system and when there is enough pressure in the system the compressor will come on, and then just continue to fully charge the AC system.

The car has been sitting for almost a year. I started it today to drive out of necessity. The A/C clutch does not engage. How do i jumper across the pressure switch to add freon? Thanks, Ken

dont!!! an you start to add freon, itll start to cycle the compresor clutch until within safe operating pressure and then it will hold clutch in constant. charge liquid(with can upside down). if wont take freon in this manner than your more than low on charge. running low on charge will quickly destroy pump, especiallt those old harrisons. the refrigerant also cools the compressor. good luck and wear gloves-

AC Wont charge after replacing components

whenever the ac system has been opened it should be hooked up to a vacuum pump designed to evacuate the ac system of any foreign debris and oil etc and after should be able to hold a vacuum to show that there are in fact no leaks then if all is ok at this point you can then charge your ac with the proper freon specified for you car when the pressure reaches satisfactory level the ac compressor will then cycle on you should not bypass the low pressure switch

A/c wont come on

have the system charge checked, the system waring is activated by this condition in most cases, u can confirm that by putting a jumper wire across the low pressure AC compressor cycling switch located in the low pressure line from the compressor near the accumulator.

Ac low on 99 devill

You have to make a jumper wire to put in the plug of the wiring that hooks on the pressure switch. This will kick on the compressor, and enguage the clutch on the compressor. Then you van charge the system.
