Question about 1999 Saab 9-5
1997 saab 4 cyl non turbo gives check gearbox light right after tranny filter change by dealer no problem prior to service. Is it possible something got bumped in the act of changing the auto tranny filter. Dealer offered to reset the light!
2000 Saab 9-5 non-turbo; driving at road speeds, no problem, had a sudden lose of power and a smoke screen coming from the exhaust. Stopped, checked the cooling fluid, OK, checked the oil it was barely registering, maybe a quart left, what could cause this.

Take it back to the Dealer........Their Problem not yours.
It is possible that a plug was removed during the service and at some stage the ignition was switched on before the plug was reconnected , this would cause a check light and the computer would store this until the light was reset.
Hope this helps.
