Faulty ECU, crankshaft position sensor. If you go to autozone they can hook their scan tool up to the car and then they can run a diagnostic on it and then you can go from there with repairs.

The middle coil pack on my 99 firebird v6 is not firing what could cause this? we replaced the ignition moduel and it is still not firing?

Need to replace the coil pack. If there is a problem with the ignition module, then other coil pack would not work.

The ignition module is under the coils. It is what the coils plug on to. To replace it removal all the coils and unplug it.

While driving, the engine dies.

I had the same thing happen on a 91 Olds 88. Replaced crank shaft position sensor, coil, and ignition module. That solved the problem. I think the culprit was the CSP Sensor, but changed all three so can't say for sure.
