The closest thing to a transmission gauge that the pathfinder had, was a temperature light.
Im not sure if all, or if just the ones with the towing packages, but some models with an automatic trans have a trans temp light just below the instrument cluster to the left of the column, to indicate if the trans is overheating.
On a different note, not directly related to the pathfinder.
As far as transmission gauges go, I only think of two.One is a temp gauge, that would be added or mounted to the dash, and the other is a pressure gauge as a diagnostic tool that a mechanic will hook up to the trans to read the pressures during testing and troubleshooting problems.

There are no gauges for the transmission. You need special equipment to read the pressures & things.

1987 Nissan Maximum gas hand doesn't work & transmission is reading full but it leaks sometimes

There are three fixes possible for the gas gauge....but I would have this troubleshot by a garage:

1. The gas gauge itself does not work anymore. It could have just finally "died". Problem is, you cannot replace just the gauge. It has to be the whole instrument cluster. Having a garage shoot power TO the gauge and then shot the gauge itself will let you know if the gauge assembly is bad.

2. The fuel sending unit is bad. This means the wiring to the gas tank fuel pump/sending unit is bad and does not work. The signal is not being sent to the fuel/gas gauge. This means the fuel pump assembly needs replacing.

3. There is a wire problem somewhere between the gas tank and the dash to the fuel gauge.

The transmission leaking but still reading full just means that there is plenty of transmission fluid in the transmission. The drips or spots you are finding are not enough to "read" low enough. Unless you have a HUGE spot of tranny fluid left on the ground, I would just think about a transmission fluid filter change. This way, a new pan gasket will be installed and fresh fluid filled to the proper level will be accomplished on your car.

Gauges Stop working and transmission quits shifting

Sounds like a "ground harness" issue. Most likely a common ground for the cluster and TCM.

LEVEL CHECK With Oil Level Gauge Fig. 1: Manual transaxle oil level check - with level gauge 84241046.gif
  1. Drive the vehicle to bring the transmission up to operating temperature.
  2. With the engine stopped, remove the oil level gauge front the side case of the transaxle.
  3. Check the color and smell of the oil. If it is black in color or smells burnt, further transmission service is needed.
  4. Wipe off oil level gauge with clean cloth.
  5. Fit the oil level gauge to the transaxle side case so that the threads rest on top of the case.
  6. Remove the gauge and check oil level. The level should be between FULL and LOW level line.
  7. If the level is below LOW mark, add oil until the proper level is reached.
With Oil Level/Filler Plug
  1. Drive the vehicle to bring the transmission up to operating temperature.
  2. Raise and support the vehicle safely.
  3. Remove the transaxle oil level/filler plug.
  4. Check the color and smell of the oil. If it is black in color or smells burnt, further transmission service is needed.
  5. Transaxle oil level should be even with the bottom of the plug hole. If oil level is low, adjust oil level accordingly.
  6. Install transaxle oil level/filler plug and tighten to 40 ft. lbs. (54 Nm).
  7. Lower the vehicle.

The output speed sensor is located on top of the transmission output shaft, this will send speed value to the transmission control module (TCM).
The vehicle speed sensor is installed on the differential of the transmission, and sends speed value to speed gauge on instrument cluster.

Check also IAC valve and look for vacuum leaks using an hand tool gauge(Vacuum Gauge and Fuel Pump Pressure).

I had someone put a transmission in my 94 corolla. Now my temperature gauge and my odometer gauge does not work. Also, the gauge fuses keep burning out! WHY?

Check to see if they hooked up all the ground wires, and plugged everything else back in. And make sure there aren't wires pinched between the engine block and the transmission.
