This one is not too bad. It looks like it is a similar project as my Sebring. In the trunk, pull the carpet away from the wall on the back side of the tail light. Be gentle and don't rip anything, but pull it away so you can see the plastic nut fasteners. Sometimes these are like wing nuts, but as I recall in this case they are hex nuts nade out of nylon plastic. Ther should be two or three on the back side holding the tail light assy in. Simply unscrew these nuts and push the studs out while holding the tail light in the other hand. Once free of the car you can see the wires attached to the back of the bezel. Twist the socket COUNTERCLOCKWISE with your finders to release the socket from the bezel. Then simply unplug(wriggle it out) and replace it with a new one. A word of advice for you: Replace all of the bulbs at once even though they are working now. With my luck I would replace one on Monday, and Tuesday I'd be pulled over for having a tail light out on the other side. It only takes a few minutes and it is well worth knowing you're in good shape. Installation is in reverse of dismanteling. NEVER pull on the wires, only the sockets. Button her up and GO!
Open the Back and unscrew the tail light screws on the inside of the door jam. The whole tail light assembly will come out. Twist the bulb socket counter clockwise, pull the bulb out. Place new bulb in the sockett, place sockett back in tail light and turn clockwise till it stops. Place tail light back in hole, put screws back in to door jam to hold tail light in.
From inside the trunk. Open trunk and you'll find large black plastic wing nuts on the inner trunk wall opposite of your tail lights. Simply unscrew them and the tail light bulbs will come out of the lenses from the inside area of the trunk.
Unscrew the knob behined the light in the Boot / Trunk and the use a small screwdriver on the OUTSIDE of the light on the right handside as you look at the light in the middle on the outside. You will feel a little spring clip and as you push gently the light will pullout forward. http://laudeman.com/volkswagen/
Go to the above link and you will get picture wise explanation for the same tail light bulb replacement. It has step by step picture explanation.
Open your hatch and behind the tail lights you will see panels with plastic knobs you can unscrew. Behind there are 3 8mm nuts you need to unscrew which will let you remove the whole tail light assembly. There is a post on the actual tail light assembly that holds it in so you may have to give it a firm pull to actually seperate it from the car. If you have the stock infinity sub you will need to remove that first to get to the drivers side tail lamp.
you can change the headlights from inside the engine. there are "how to's " on the internet. the tail light is pretty easy what I do is open the hatch then theres this round cover. open that and there should be a screw. unscrew that ( it holds the lights from the inside ) then with something flat ( i use a butter knife) try and dislodge the tail lights it will pop right out. then you can twist the the faulty lights off.
The Tail Lights Are Accessed From The Inside Of The Trunk There Will Either Be A Panel Immediately Behind Where The Light Is Or Carpet. Remove It And It Will Give You Access To The Rear Of The Bolts Just Grab Twist And Pull And The Light Will Come Out.
