Question about 1998 Mitsubishi Galant
Sound like starter motor is failing, will normally be worse when its hot, to proove it, when you hear this click, swithch the key quickly, eg... click... click... click... this can free it up, or with a 2nd person, locate the starter motor in the engine bay and give it a tap with a hammer handle or a decent stick, (just to tap it into life, not beat the hell out of it) while other person turns the key to crank.
If this works the starter motor is due for repairs
