I would go and us auto zone OBD for free and clear code and you can remove neg battery cable for 30 sec not hr.

Remove the negative cable from your battery and wait 1 hour the car computer will reset, be carefful that your radio is not anti device, otherwise you would need the code to reset your radio which is a four number code.
