Question about 1999 Cadillac DeVille

My 1999 Cadilac Deville over-heats.

My 1999 Cadillac Deville over-heats. I replaced the thermostat with no luck. Some people have told me that it could possibly be a bad head-gasket, but I know that normaly when head-gaskets go bad you will see smoke (white smoke). Could it possibly be my water-pump? If so, what might I want look at as a determining factor?

My heat doesn't work on my 1999 Cadillac Deville

Start with the basics, check to make sure you have thermostat, h And the heater hoses. On a lot of the older cars. This would help prevent the older car from over heating. Just a suggestion.

I had my engine rebuilt along with the coolant system replace with new part such as the radiator, thermostat, waterpump, tank, hoses and ect. and the car is still running hot on a 1999 cadilac deville

Hello Darryl, have you checked the accuracy of the gauge and confirmed the engine is actually over heating? Check the cooling fan Assembly to ensure they are fully operational. The shop that rebuilt your engine should of never released the vehicle if the engine was running hot after it was rebuilt & installed. If it fails from excessive heat, your warranty is worthless. I hope this information is helpful.

My cadillac is not giving me any hot air ,ive replaced the radiator, changed the thermostat, has a new water pump, where do istart to look.

Feel the 2 tubes at the firewall for the heater core. If they are not getting hot, the heater core needs to be flushed out or replaced. I had this problem with a 1990 Cadilac Deville, it was just a plugged up heater core.

Remember to install sealant after flushing out the system to prevent leaks.

How would you put on a relay for a 1999 Cadilac Deville

the relays on this car have either 4 or 5 pins. it depends on which relay you are replacing, the relays themselves just literally pull right out and just push back in like a fuse.
