Remote locking

The most common failure is the drivers side door switch. They are not well designed and a little debris will damage it. These switches are electronically controlled through the body control module. You will need to test and inspect the master control switch, for operation and the harness in the drivers side door jam. You may need to send your truck in for diagnostics. The dealership is the way to go. It is their product and they will get it in and out fast, which will keep the cost of the repair down. As far as the Remote start, How old is the battery? Do you still have both remotes and if so, will the truck start off of the other remote? There are certain parameters that need to exist, in order for the truck to start. For security reasons the doors and the hood must be identified as closed. If the switch does not communicate to the remote start module, that it is ready. The vehicle will not be allowed to start. Please write back with what you find or decide to do. You may decide to send it in for diagnostics but if you want to dig into yourself and you have other questions, please feel free, I'll do my best to help. Good luck.

2002 chevy trailblazer interior dome lights always on

The Liftgate Module does have something to do with the remote FOBs (it has the receiver for the FOBs) and could also have an effect on the courtesy lights, it senses an open liftgate and sends that info to the Body Control Module (BCM). An area of common problems are the wires in the rubber boot between the body and the liftgate, these wires need to be checked for breakage.

Keys work to lock doors and unlock the trunk but will not remotely unlock the doors, so we have ruled out battery issues, tried reprogramming the keys...what next?

I recently called the Volkswagen Dealership and spoke with the service manager about why my passenger doors no longer unlock using either of my two remotes...but all doors do unlock using the key in the exterior door lock, and by using the driver door master control switch. Note: The remotes are new, have been programmed by the dealership, and have fresh batteries in them. The VW service manager said "it sounds like the control module has a bad circuit". The fix would be a new control module, parts and 2 hours labor would be about $530.00. I mentioned that my original car battery is over eight years old and weak and needs to be replaced, and asked if that could be the problem. He said "NO that a weak battery wouldn't cause only that one single lock malfunction".

My husband went to the local auto parts store today and purchased a new battery for the car and installed it himself. Cost was just under $190.00 w/tax for the battery, but we purchased the top of the line "Interstate" battery. THIS FIXED THE PROBLEM! The remote problem is gone! All doors will lock and unlock as they did when the car was new! I'm happy to share the good news with everyone out there who may be experiencing the same problem. If your battery could be weak, try replacing it first before spending money on a new module. Cheers!

SOME OF THE REMOTES REQUIRE THAT THE KEY BE IN THE IGNITION, IN THE ON POSITION. TAKE THE BATTERY OUT AND WAIT 10 MINUTES. THEN PUT THE KEY IN THE IGNITION AND INSTALL THE BATTERY WHILE THE KEY IS TURNED TO THE ON POSITION. HOPE THIS HELPS YOU. PLEASE KEEP ME POSTED. THANKS FOR AN HONEST RATING AND FOR USING FIX-YA. GOOD LUCK

Keyless / remote control - Toyota vienta vxi

No, not true. We replace remotes regularly, and have never had a need for a "working" remote. The keyless entry system does not "disable" itself. Hope this helps.
