It is located in the larger of the 2 AC hoses from the compressor or it is located on the can shaped object called the "accumulator canister"

A/c will not hold a charge and I hear fluid escaping from behind where the orifice tube is located why

I would guess there might be a leak coming from behind where the orifice tube is located.

Where is the orifice tube located to put a new one in?

The orifice tube is located inside the liquid line where it connects to the condenser. This line is located on the passenger side of the car and has the low side charge port on it. this line unscrews right where the orifice tube is located... Hope this helps

I need to clean out or change the orifice tube on my 2000 Jeep Cherokee

Rather then guessing an just replacing parts , have a qualified repair shop hook up A/C manifold gauges an check the system . Can tell you what's wrong in just min.
(it is only blowing slightly cool air. I suspect it is the orifice/expansion tube and want to know if I can change it out myself or reair it.)
Don't suspect , that's guessing . test don't guess . Are the A/C pipes going in through the fire wall cold ,have ice on them when A/C is on ?

Need to change to a a/c retro fit do i need to change dryer or filter if so how and where is it'' on 10 90 chev z71

yes change the accumulator /filter drier and the orifice tube the orifice tube is on the high side line going to the condenser and the accumulator is on the fire wall passenger side but this system needs to be evacuated before this is done its against the law to release these gasses into the air so youll need a recovery system to do this dontforget to replace the seals also

Ac leaks won't hold charge more than one day.put can of sealer in but it did'nt help.could it be the o-rings.if so how to repair it.

I use a green die to locate the leak in an A/C circuit , not a stop leak sealer..

Yes , the most likely culpriet is an O-ring gone bad.

A/C compressor not engaging.

IF THE SYSTEM HAS A LEAK, THEN THE COMPRESSOR CLUTCH WILL NOT ENGAGE. TRY PUTTING SOME 134A FREON IN THE LOW SIDE(LARGER OF THE TWO LINES). AND SEE IF THE CLUTCH PULLS IN. IF IT DOES, THEN THERE IS A LEAK SOMEWHERE. IF YOU GET THE FREON WITH THE LEAK DETECTOR DYE IN IT, THEN YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO LOCATE IT RATHER EASY. SOME CANS COME WITH A STOP-LEAK, BUT THESE TEND TO CLOG UP THE ORIFICE TUBES. HOPE THIS HELPS. PLEASE KEEP ME POSTED. THANKS FOR AN HONEST RATING AND FOR USING FIX-YA. GOOD LUCK
