It may be the oil rings and not the compresion rings? or may just be the valve stem oil seals.

Dodge ram engine smokes when stated and skips

What color smoke? Black is emissions related, blue/black your burning oil and white your burning anti-freeze. With the "skip" your REF to, you probably have a bad spark plug, wire, or bad cylinder and burning some oil or coolant. CK plugs , wires & do a compression test. Pressure test Radiator for head gasket leak.

What could blue tailpipe smoke be from?

Your issue could be a few things. Simplest first would be the PVC valve. Other issue would be valve seals, valve guides or piton rings. The blue smoke is from your vehicle burning oil

no year, ?

try a new spark plug e and then if wires to spark plug , replace that too. and cap and rotor if it has that....?????

then when spark is good, check compression with any $20 gauge.

no year, i give up.

1976 accord? surely ive no clue.

smoke has 3 colors, (my rules not ASE)

1 black fuel (flooding etc) can seem gray but is black .

2: white and lingers., oil burning , bad. news.

3: white and fades fast, is STEAM, like moms tea pot, look next time..

smell white smoke, smells sweet, its toxic antifreeze.

smells like oil dripped on an hot exhaust? that is the smell of oil burning

smoke where, under front of car, or at the end of the tail pipe. ?????????????

how you like my smoke rules, even mom can figure it out.

Renault Scenic 2001 - burning oil, good compressions

That shoul be enough compression and if same that is a good sign check for bad Breather or PCV valve, engine has to breath or pressure will force oil. also HOW MUCH OIL DO YOU HAVE / What does the dip stick read. Could be bad intake valve seals / Valve guides.

Blue smoke from exhaust, bad smell, plugs misfiring.

Blue smoke is oil burning. What kind of mileage is on your engine? What weight of oil are you using? Misfire can be different things, bad wires, bad coil or fouling. Pull the plugs and look at them. If they are black and oily then they are fouled and I would suspect your engine is going to need expensive repairs or replacement. You could try going to a heavier oil like 15W40 or 20W50. This would buy you some time but a compression test should be done to see how bad it is and where to go from there.

White smoke petrol 1.4 renault clio.not stem

White smoke: White smoke is caused by water and or antifreeze entering the cylinder, and the engine trying to burn it with the fuel. If white smoke is present, check to see if the proper amount of antifreeze is inside the radiator and the overflow bottle. Also check to see if antifreeze has contaminated the engine oil. You can look at the engine oil dipstick, or look at the under side of the engine oil filler cap. If the oil is contaminated with antifreeze, it will have the appearance of a chocolate milkshake. Do not start the engine if the oil is contaminated with antifreeze, as serious internal engine damage can result.

It is also possible to be a engine problem you should immediate visit a car service.

Renault megane scenic 1.9 dt r reg 1997 cold start problems

This being a diesel, lack of compression is your worst enemy. These symptoms sound like a blown head gasket. Check your coolant for signs of oil, and check your oil for signs of coolant. (oil will be milky looking) Also indicative of a head gasket problem is an oil or coolant leak from the engine as well. If you see no evidence of the above, have a compression test done, and it should show up.
