Have someone hit the starter with a hammer while you attempt to start it. not hard enough to break it tho. if it starts... .replace the starter. also test the voltage of the battery when you attempt to start it.... if the voltage drops more then one or two volts you will need to replace the battery. perhaps try getting a boost to see if that works out
Check the wiring to the starter.,the connection on the starter, and if you can, disconnect the starter, wire a solenoid to it and apply a control voltage to the solenoid and see if the starter turns.
maybe the starter has a dead spot.have someone start it,and hit the starter with a small hammer, preferably rubber mallet 16oz so you do not crack the housing..

Does this happen when the truck is hot or all the time?
