You got a jump and it ran fine? It's your battery. The lights and radio are much easier for a battery to handle than spinning a car engine. Again, if all you needed was a jump, you have a bad battery.

I would say if the car stays running after u jumped started it I would replace the battery

the clicking noise is the starter relay engaging, you say it starts w/jumpercables-starter is ok, either alt is not charging the battery or the battery can not hold a charge anymore any auto parts store can check it and tell you witch is bad

Clicking noise is the sound of the starter being bad and not having enough power to turn the motor over. Replace the starter.

Check the battery first, if it is ok you probably have a bad starter. If the battery is drained, you need to charge and test the battery and alternator.

hi, can you hear a clicking noise when you turn the key to start as the starter gets its power direct from the battery so also check these wires are connected and not came loose.
If you can hear a clicking noise when you turn the key this means the starter motor needs replacing ok.

If lights and radio worked, LOW load off the battery is OK, but trying to start (400Amp draw) isn't. My bet is that your Battery connectors are loose. Dump a COKE slowly on eaxh to rremove all the Green crystalline stuff (do it slowwwwww) then remove (Negative (-) side first) and clean up the insides with a piece of sandpaper. Put them back on (Positive (+) first) and tighten good (these are typically LEAD, so easy to ruin)

Check tightness of the clamps on battery & make sure the earth cable is tight from battery to engine, also check tightness of nut holding the cable 2 starter motor if all ok there its most probably the solenoid on top of starter motor replace this with new all will b ok.

That Clicking is the Battery causing it not to Start. You need to Replace that Battery or at Least put a Charger on it for a Couple of hours to see if you can Salvage it for a While.

Hmmmm, from what u say, sounds like everything is ok, but,Bad battery can run lights, radio, but trying to start, will make clicking noise. U jumped it to start, and it did, another sign of bad battery. How are the connections at battery? Tight and clean? No corrosion? Check wire to starter also to make sure it's ok. If all connections are clean and tight, I would recommend removing the battery, take to parts store for free check to see condition of battery (low charge, or if it's shot). If u jump start it, u can also have them check the alternator too (free). U indicate dash gauge @ 14, that should be good. Battery usually has a date 'thingy' on it that u peel off #'s to indicate when battery was purchased, does yours have the 'thingy?'
