SOURCE: 1998 Chevy tahoe Hard to start when cold

Hello, yes the check valve is in the fuel pump assembly. The check valve is leaking and the pump will burn out soon. Unfortunately the aftermarket fuel pumps can be very unreliable. A good portion of problems we see on this site are from people who replace the pump sometimes twice and it still doesn't work.

replace your MAP sensor(manifold absolute pressure) the map sensor is the computer for your fuel pressure regulator telling how much pressure. Unless your tahoe runs like **** going up hill than it inevitably your fuel pump

Have you checked for vaccume leaks?
You've got lots of parts in there, Has the problem been the reason you have replaced all of those, or did it come up while doing some of the repairs?

SOURCE: 1992 vortec v6 motor getting spark and strong fuel

the probem is probably in the injector assembly whichis under the intake plenum.after removing it you will se the plastic tubes and ijector popit valves unlike actual individual injectors.this whole contraption must be replaced as an assembly.you can get repair manuals from this site or go to you library.it may actually be flooding as these had problems with leaking fuel pressure regulators which i think are also only part of the whole assembly.

1995 jeep grand Cherokee 4.0 long crank and trouble starting but then once started and hit the gas to keep engine alive for few seconds or it'll die again after its gonna stay alive it idles fine.

Is this a long crank on a cold engine or hot, maybe both? I'd still want to use a gage and check proper fuel pressure, 39--41 psi. Hopefully the pressure would hold for a bit with key off?
How long since a tune-up? Any applicable trouble codes?
You could check and clean the idle air system, see if it helps?

My 2004 gmc yukon xl will run after 2 times cranking

Low fuel pressure ? What engine ? 4.3 vortec ? Center port fuel injection ? . These are real picky if it does have proper fuel pressure , won't start . These are know for various problems , leaking fuel pressure regulators located under the intake manifold . That is if your yukon has this system ?

Check the fuel pressure regulator on the fuel rail. Remove vacuum line after running, any trace of fuel in vacuum hose indicates defective fuel regulator diaphram. This will produce symtoms you describe. The fuel pressure in the rail leaks through the diaphram and causes flooding. Letting the truck sit clears the fuel from engine. As an alternative, try flooring the throttle while cranking hot, this will also will clear a flooded condition.

change the fuel filter. Then check the fuel pump pressure at idle and at 3000 rpm. A fuel pressure regulator stuck in the idle setting will show those symptoms but so will a partially clogged filter.

I had this problem.I removed the fuel pressure regulator and it was full of carbon.Remove it very carefully as to not damage any seals.Remove as much carbon as you can and reinstall. This should solve your problem.

Hard to start when warmed up

It sounds like you are on the right path here, but I would take the truck back to perform the fuel pressure test again and this time let the truck sit for 20-30 minutes with the fuel pressure guage on it and look for how much the pressure drops in that amount of time. The pressure should not drop over 5-10 psi in the 30 minutes or so. If it does then I would suspect the pressure loss to be at the fuel injector (CFI) if this truck is a vortec equipped 4.3L. The regulator is internal of the upper intake plenum and you will have to remove the upper intake plenum to inspect it. If, when you get the upper intake plenum off, you find residual fuel around the regulator or any of the hoses or poppet injectors replace as necessary. This is a very common problem for these vehicles with high mileage. Parts are available at the local auto parts store.

Hope this helps.
