when i turn, left or right, it doesnt matter, it feels like if you have a car with power steering that suddenly doesnt work

Well, first, it may NOT be the linkage....tell me what it feels like when you are moving and in a turn.

Only lube points you might have are on the ball joints and outer tie rod ends. Many come "sealed" and have no provision for service, others will have zirk fittings or a small nut in them that needs to be removed and replaced with a fitting. Your power steering should also be checked to make sure that it's operating properly.

Sounds like pump pressure may be low. (internal wear)

Problems with manual racks are rare so I assume this is power steering. Older power-assisted rack and pinion steering units used to suffer from excessive wear in the areas where the internal seals normal rested-- the straight ahead position. Consequently the vehicle steers as if it is in a rut when you try to turn. Time for rack replacement.

Good idea to check the power steering if the car had power steering.
Zerk (grease) fittings are not installed at the factory
on any Geo models.
Try adding about 10psi to each front wheel and report back.

Check your vehicle's owner's manual service guide; contact the service or parts dept at a local Mazda dealership; visually (look) at the steering linkages, or call your local auto parts store...I know that some models have sealed units with no lube points and others that have lube points...the consideration is model and are the steering components stock or aftermarket?

98 ford f150 goes in reverse butvnot forward after pothole accident ..trans. pan ok..linkage from steering column ok..what else could it be?

Two places to look:

Shift linkage is very sensitive and may need to be adjusted. Perhaps it was pulled out of position by the motion.

There is a clamp that holds the sift linkage in place on the steering column that breaks, cheap part, not too difficult to replace.

Steering rack replacement on a 99 cady deville, how difficult ?

Rather difficult. Involves disconnecting the tie rod ends. Steering linkage from steering wheel. Disconnecting the power steering pump lines and unbolting the rack and pinion from the body. Not a lot of room to get at stuff.

2003 GMC LT P/U steering linkage

The noise you are hearing is coming from the inter. steering shaft. You can lube it as per bulletin or replace it. When you lube it use a tefflon based grease 1. remove the shaft 2.streach it out 3. install grease 4. make a plug and stick it in the end where you put the grease 5. push on the shaft to collapse it and the grease will forced throuth the splines of the shaft coming out the other end 6.reinstall
