Climate control A/C occaisonally cuts out

2003 Mercury Sable with climate control. The air conditioner cuts occasionaly. It will cut out usually on hard accleration but at other times and then not come back on, the fan continues to blow unconditioned air. If I turn the system off and wait a minute before turning it back on it works. It does not appear to be low on refrigerant.

It may be low on Freon. You need gauges to tell. There are some cans which come with a gauge. The A/C system is suppose to cut off under heavy accelleration to give you all the power you need. The pause after can show low Freon.
The system is designed to operate in the middle range. You have a low side cutout switch and a high side cutout switch. You want to fill the system to operate in the optimum range which your gauges will show.
Its different pressures for different car companies.
The air out of the dash vent should be around 34 to 42 degrees..

2003 chevy 1500 ss only blows cold air no heat

Dual climate control on these is not a manual valve adjuster. It is done electronicly with a electric motor on a valve instead of ran by a maual cable. Find this and check the plug for a 12 volt signal. If you are getting a signal replace the valve, if not it could be a blown fuse, cut wire, or a bad climate contol switch.

Check that the wiring for the compressor clutch is connected. Have the system checked for the correct amount of gas as too little or too much will stop the clutch of the compressor. If the old compressor failed and the system didn't have a new receiver/dryer fitted there is every possibility that the tx valve is blocked. have the pressure in the system checked while a blockage will switch off the clutch also.

I have a 2001 Mercury sable with climate control. The air-conditioning works fine the first time the car is started for the day, or if it sits for approxamately 3 hours. But if I drive up to the store, and...

the heat exchanger will do that ,, its normal and should only blow warm air for a minute or two, as long as it starts cooling again,, thats fine , and actually a Ford Motor Company trait

Temperature will not change when you set the temperature control from 60 to 90. I getting heat but not hot just warm. I have climate control on a 2004 Mercury Sable LS

I've seen this before. There is heat mix solenoid just behind the stereo that moves the mix door to determine the air temperature at the vents. The solenoid has likely failed and needs to be replaced.

If the AC compressor was working full time including when the heat was on in the winter, this would certainly cut short the life span of the compressor. Usually, the compressor won't come on unless climate control is calling for AC. If this was the case, the issue is more likely the climate control itself, either a sensor or the whole unit. Should have been caught when you had it diagnosed in the winter if this was when you had it in the shop. Hope this answers your question. Best of luck.

Climate Control (740 GLE)

When your a/c compressor clicks in and out like that it usually means that your refrigerant level is low. It cycles like that to keep you from damaging the compressor. Hope this helps.
