Is the check engine light on ?
The idle speed problem could be the idle air control valve, and the rough running problem could be fuel pressure or dirty injectors.

My 97 Dodge ram Van won't stay running.

Unless the vac leak is very large, it would not keep the engine from idling.
The computer controls idle speed by regulating how much air enters the intake thru the throttle body by use of the idle air control valve.
The throttle body could be gummed up, or the idle control valve may be faulty.

I have a banging under my ford windstar paid 2000 for van have put 10000 into it have always have fords love them but this problem mechanics cant figure it out......driving me crazy

It could be any one of a number of things:-
Exhaust system
Anti roll bar on front suspension
Stabilising arms
gear linkages
Wishbone joints
ball joints
rear suspension linkages
shock absorbers
engine or gearbox mounts.
flat spots on wheels

Try figure out if the noise only happens under certain circumstances like road surfaces or wheel speeds or engine speeds, and try narrow down the source.

Vw golf power issue

Hi my name is Tom and I am here to help you.

I know it is not your fuel pump. To my way of thinking fuel pumps get a bad rap. They either pump fuel or they do not. Your injectors are a possibility, but I would look for a tune up overlook and that is your timing and the injectors.

I have never changed injectors. I would rather advise you to use an injector cleaner. My reasoning is this. The car is running. No problems until you demand more fuel in a hurry. Now dirty injectors can not meet the demand and you get hesitation. Then they dump more gas than you can burn which causes the cloud of black partially burnt gas.

I hope I have been of help.. Please keep me advised if you decide to try my inexpensive fix. Either way, please rate my thumbs up for the worthiness of my solutions. If I can be of any further help please call or email.

Engine is jumping

Check fuel filter and fuel pump, a clogged filter can cause loss of power during acceleration and a malfunctioning pump can cause the same thing
