Question about 1997 Jaguar XJ6
I have a '97 XJ6L, 4.0L six cylinder. When I accellerate from a stop, there's a rattle that sounds like it's coming from the engine compartment. It also occurs when I first start up the engine. While I'm driving at a constant speed, all is quiet. I'm not sure whether its the engine or the transmission. Any ideas or experience with this? Is there a way to check the transmission fluid level?
Check all your exhaust heat sheilds for that rattle. There should be a sight window on the trans housing thruogh a fender well.
