When I turn the key to start my 2003 325i BMW

When I turn the key to start my 2003 325i BMW nothing happens. it doesn't start or make any noise. All of the lights on the dash stay on though

- its an automatic.just and observation: I drive 20 minutes to work everyday normally with my radio on. but the last 2 days when I leave my radio off its has been ok. this leads me to think...maybe battery???? but if it was the battery wouldnt it make the cranking noise of atleast trying to start? hmmm

Manual or automatic ?
On average it takes 20 mins of running an engine to put back into the battery what you took out when starting.
If you do alot of short trips with heat/aircon going its slowly drains the battery , I take my car for an desent run every couple of weeks.
