Question about Mitsubishi Sigma

93 Magna Auto vibration at idle

I just bought a 93 Magna that vibrates when idling. Seems like it is trying to take off. The auto doesn't seem to be disengaged. It is fine when in neutral or park. Idle is about 750 rpm in neutral. Tried winding it back to lower revs but it finally stalled before the vibration stopped.

Can get started and by keeping the revs up it sounds ok, but when I back off the accelerator it dies. Have even tried taking it for a drive till it gets to temp. Drives fine until I get to an intersection, but still will not idle when stopped. (in either drive or park)

Rough idling, vibration and reduced power

sounds like your ignition timing is mal-adjusted. The timing is off. Go buy a Haynes repair manual and look in the section on how to re-time your motor. Has to do with re-adjusting the distributor's position in relation to the camshafts (you have 2). You may also need to change the timing belts.

The vibration is due to the rubber in the motor mounts wearing out. I change mine periodically with Urethane motor mounts.

Big vibrations and transmission fluid looks yellow camry 93/94

If the car improves at speed, but has rough idle, then I would suspect a crack or hole in the large flexible hose between the air cleaner and the intake manifold. Also possible are

- fouled or faulty spark plug
- broken or loose spark plug lead
- vacuum leak or detached vacuum tube
- worn timing belt has jumped a tooth

If it runs fine and the idle is the only problem you could try idling it up some with the idle set screw on the throttle body it sounds like it may be a little bit out of time those toyotas have a fine lins on the timing.

The starter for my ford 460 stays running after gear is disengaged only have power to solenoid when key is in start position when the truck is shut off one can hear the starter whining down after shutting...

There is a spring in the starter that should cause it to disengage after the electricity is removed. Double check that the electricity is removed form the starter side of the solenoid, cause that is the easiest thing to check first. Then take the starter off and have it checked for free at your local auto store. If it seems OK to them it may be the starter is not the right one for the bell housing. If it sticks in to far, the starter gear may be stuck partly in the flywheel.

93 hyundai lantra 1.8 autobox problem

I've had a similar problem (same car, same auto) and replaced the transmission fluid/filter as well as the idle speed control motor.  It seems to me that an excessively high idle speed can give the impression that the transmission is hesitating on downshifts.  Mine does the same thing until it reaches operating temperature.  Have you tried checking the fluid level? Or, switching between Power/Normal transmission modes?  You can download the manual from hmaservice.com and check the transmission fault codes if you have a good multimeter.
