The interior lights do not immediately go off when the car is off and when they do go off they will come back on, thus making the battery to go dead. This has happened about 4 times

One of you door switches are seized you will need to unseize or replace the faulty one. the switches are in the door latch and you will have to start by turning the ignition key to on and then open and close each door. when you get to the door that doesn't make a chime sound when opened or closed. that is the door with the latch problem. you will need to replace the switch for that latch one.

On a very intermittent basis my car won't turn over and it appears as if you have a completely dead battery but it's not. Any ideas?

Please check the following:
- Check the specific gravity of the battery.
- Perform the battery test.
- Perform the voltage drop test.
- Check the battery terminals for corrosion, sulfate deposits and looseness. (Remove the battery terminals, wash them with Luke warm water, dry them, spray wet type contact cleaner and fix them back).
- Perform alternator test with and without load.
- Check the main fuses, battery cables and connectors in the fuse and relay box under the hood.
Hope that works.

Interior lights will not turn off

have a load test done on the battery as it appears that it has a faulty cell. 2 hours for an internal light to flatten the battery indicates that the battery is no good as an interior bulb draws around 5 watts and on a good battery that would amount to around 24 hours usage. Besides all the other problems indicate a lower than required voltage.

AAA said battery was dead and starter was bad, it would only click once until the battery was completly dead. Put a new battery in and had interior lights, etc. Tried to turn it over, and only one click...

iwould check positive and negative power at battery end and at starter and engine block end
also check power at any distribution block (points) for corrosion or partially brocken connection
or loose at mounting points

My interior lights in my 2007 pt cruiser wont go off. I had to pull the bulbs out of the dome and reading lights so the battery wouldnt go dead can you help me?

There is a short in the wiring of your interior lights. The wire has come loose and is now shorting against the metalic roof of your car. Remove the interior light from the roof enough so you can see the wires. Make sure the contacts are secure to the pins in the bulbs

Engine will not CRANK

mcdevito75 here, My immediate thought is a dead battery, inside the car with the door open so the interior light is on, try to start the car if that interior light dims you have a dead battery if the light does not dim, clean the battery cables and suspect a faulty strater.

2000 Ford Explorer after turning the vehicle off sometimes the interior lights come back on and run the battery dead any suggestions?

Check the door jam switch for the light. The switch may be starting to go bad.It is probably sticking at times and keeping the light on.

Which fuse controls the interior lights

First, make sure the interior light switch has not been left on, either at the light itself (press to turn on, press to turn off) or at the headlight switch.

And don't forget the dimming feature in Chrysler products, where the lights don't just go off, but delay after closing the doors.

The fuse would be the interior lights fuse, most likely at the drivers end of the dashboard.
