Check the starter or starter solenoid. If you hear a clicking noise your solenoid relay is good but the contactors may be bad or the starter itself may be bad. Useally that is the place to satrt

I have a 1996 town car 4.6l that won't turn over, battery is new. Noticed that prior to the problem it would take several seconds of having key in start position before it would engage.

Sounds like a start switch on the steering column, worn ignition tumbler, if it takes a few tries holding the key in the start position

My vehicle does not start well in the cold..

THERE ARE 2 TEMP SENSORS ONE IS FOR THE LIGHT OR GAUGE AND THE OTHER IS FOR THE ECM. IF THE ONE FOR THE ECM IS FAULTY IT CAN CAUSE HARD COLD STARTS

My 2000 buick lesabre want start fuel pump comes on when i turn the key i have spark at the coils.checked all fuses. Changed fuel filter but car still won't start its trying to start but just...

It could be the fuel pump. Sometimes you can hear them engage, but they are not pushing enough fuel pressure to run the car. This can be checked.

Hello. My 1997 Chevy Tahoe refuses to start. The problems began with a bad fuel pump. I changed. It worked. The fuel pump died again. I changed it again and it has been working. I parked it for two weeks....

Now you have a good battery & a starter that turns over the motor

Have you cycled the key on & off with a fuel pressure gauge on the
fuel rail?

Do you have a fuel filter that isn't over 3 or 4 years old?

Have you checked for spark while cranking ? Use an old plug on the wires,
if you have ignition wires, don't ground the wire without resistance

If you removed the ducting & MAF Sensor it won't start

Tell us what you checked & exactly how that was done.

I have a 1998 v-8 dodge dakota, i bought a new bateery for it checked the relays and fuses it will turn over it just wont fire do u think it is the starter or the fuel pump??

the easyest way to determine the cause is a process of elimination first if itturns over then your problem is not the starter or ignition... if you checked fuses and relays and theres none broken or missing then you keep going, are you getting spark to the spark plugs? you can check it with a spark tester from an auto parts store they are around 3 or 4 bucks if you test the spark and there is spark then the last option is fuel you can check the fuel pump by disconnecting your battery for a few minutes put the key in the ignition but do not turn then reconnect the battery listen to see if you hear any sounds like something turning on if you dont then move to the next step, while standing out side of the vehicle turn the key to the on position but do not turn over you should then hear then fuel pump engage and pressure up if you do then you may want to check your fuel filter and make sure its not clogged if you dont hear the pump start then you may have a faulty pump.. good luck to you and i hope this helps

Now it just will not start. It's was taking longer and longer to start. I tested the starter and replaced it. Now after a few (5-10 turns of the key) it turns over but wont engage and actually start. Even...

I would take the starter out and have it bench tested to verify if it has gone bad in the mean time.

Check the battery for bad connections and also for a full charge.

Check that the battery connections are clean and shiny and new looking when removed from the battery.

How old is the battery? 3 years is a typical life of most batteries sold and installed in cars these days. If unsure, then try a new one from the store which is fully charged to test, or connect a battery charger to your existing battery to see if it will take a charge.

Trickle charge your battery for up to 3 days to get a full charge on it.

Good luck on this repair.

No fuel coming out of fuel line

the system is working properly, the engine has to start for the fuel pump to continue to get 12 volts, if u cylce the key on the pumps runs a few seconds and then goes off, your pump is getting correct signal it just isn't running, u need a fuel pump.
