My air compressor is going in my 2001 Mitsubishi Mirage. Now the question is... Do I need to replace it if I dont mind not having A/C.. or... is it connected to the alternator or any other major thing in...

Well sweetheart, if you dont mind not having AC, it doesnt affect anything leaving it on there, as long as you have the AC turned off...No need to remove anything.

When im driving my car, the Check Engine light just came on, and the engine continuously hiccupps and has trouble accelerating. What causes this?

You need to have the computer code checked to see what is malfunctioning on the car. If you have a Checker or Autozone near you they will check the computer code and let you know what is malfunctioning.

I have a 2000 Mitsubishi Mirage that starts then dies

There are a few things for you to do to get it running right. Any fuel that may have been in the system would have turned in to varnished and needs to be cleaned out of your fuel system. You can buy a can of Sea Foam from the Auto Parts Store and follow the instructions. THe other thing to is to buy a can of throttle body cleaner and clean out the throttle body and Idle air control valve which would cure the stalling problem. Start with that and give it a good run on the road and then do an oil and filter change to ge all the water condensation contamination out of the engine and also to the transmission fluid and filter change too. Good luck and this should na a good start to getting your car running 100% again.

My mitsubishi mirage is 1.5L. The engine revs alot when the car is stopped and i have changed the spark plugs, checked the distributor and everything looks fine. The other problem is that gear shift keeps...

Could be multiple. I would look for bad Motor Mounts or Worn Shifter Linkage Components, to address the Transmission Issues. The Idle Issue could be an Idle Air Control Valve. 1995 is before OBD2. So, Check Engine Lights are useful, but not as much as they are 1996 and up.You didn't mention a Light on. Get a Repair Manual. You are going to need it.

Mirage Mitsubishi 2000 1.8L Rough Miss when Idle

Might want to look for vacuum leaks. Most misfires that go away with gas are caused by manifold vacuum leaks. The cat code can also be caused by the vac leak. There are different methods to find them and not real easy-but one way is to get a can of carb cleaner spray and spritz around intake areas. When the carb cleaner finds the leak--the car will run good for just and instant. Could be a rubber line or a manifold gasket. Hope it helped. Thanks

hi, i would say the automatic choke spring broke, this is what controls the cars idle at cold and hot engine tempatures. if it's broke it is no longer able to automaticly regulate the rpm's the for making it idle at hi rpm. hope this could help you.
