Not that i am aware of but a theft system reset works quite well. i actually just had to do this today at work. turn your key to the on position and leave it there for 10 min. no less then 10 min. after that turn key off for 5 sec and turn back to on position. wait for light to go out and start complete reset is done

Whr is my fuel pump reset button on my 2003 grand am? Its security lock, it wont get any fuel. It cranks but wont start. Not getting any fuel. First time ever happening

There is no reset button.
The problem could be the anti-theft system which would knock out the injectors and spark to the plugs.
If the security light is staying on, the problem could be the chip in the key.

Where is the Anti Theft Light on 2006 Chevy Impala?

Hi, Your remote for the car should disable the security system, check that your remote has enough power to unlock the anti thief. Basically if you can lock and unlock the car your remote should be fine. That's the first check. the next thing to check is the fuse for the security system. if the fuse is blown you will get the problems you are having OK. So, check the fuses. I am thinking that the fact that the trouble light is not coming on is a good indication the fuse is blown. Check the fuses. If this doesn't work you are basically looking at having it towed to the dealer. Good Luck!

The anti theft system was preventing my 1999 Chevy Malibu from starting. Once i waited 15 minutes the light would go out and the car would start. Eventually though the car became very very difficult to...

Well How good are you at Resistors?? Get an Ohm meter and check the ohm's on your key, Next go to radio shack and buy a few Resistors that are the same Ohms and climb under the steering wheel.. You should see 2 Small thin wires Coming from the column, WARNING, There is a Second Yellow Wire With a Sticker on it Saying Air Bag, Don't touch...

When you fine the 2 small wires the DO NOT SAY AIRBAG Disconnect the plug and Add you Resistors to that plug leading away from the column,.

When you put key in the Light should go right out if the Ohms are correct... Not to mention you can now buy keys without chips for that car too... Good luck. AND stay AWAY from the Air bag, I would tell you have a Pro look at..

Car want start full of gas and the theft light keep coming on and i dont have the manual and im stuck at the gas station is there a button to push or somthing

you have really problem of starting the engine once theft light comes on. these because of the security system cuts off power of the fuel pump. you can cut the yellow wire(tape it) on the steering colume just to make the engine start and the car be use.
after, if you want to put your car in standard change the Anti-theft system.

Starting: car will not start; dash reads "starting

Hello, RW Betton,

Here is a few things to try then please read toward the bottom. Please read my whole page here of ideas for you.

Question? when it does disable it usually will say " starting disabled due to theft system remove key from ignition and wait 3 minutes'. Are you able to start car after the 3 minutes? or it wont period? My car does this a lot to but I think its cause you have to unlock the car, get in it, shut the doors and then start the car because mine does it when i open the doors.

Also some times if you have a chip in your key will do this as they ware out, and would have to try you back up key (if you have one) and if turns out to be your key, that has bad chip, dealer would have to replace that.

Finally, this is your other choice as well below, and you can click on that site and it should help you. Most the times this whole issue is triggered from the key itself into the ignition, that cause this.

If you have the GM pass lock system in that car, this is a site that will show you how to disable it:

However, if it were my car I would see what the dealer will charge to fix it first. It may just be a simple reprogramming is needed or a inched wire in the steering column. I would want the car to have an anti theft system working as it should.

I hope my free advice has helped you, and if you could please rate my help accordingly and some kind words too. I appreciate it, and keep me informed on progress. Here is also my direct link for all my services I offer to help you.

That is my personal page of all my areas of ads of my expertize. Mike

My theft system keeps activating and thus disabling the my 2003 Malibu for 10 minutes while I wait to reset. Can this be solved or is there a way to disable the system?

cant be disabled. I would have the dealer or a good repair shop diagnose and recommend repairs. Could be key or the lock cylinder/ sensor problem

I think its my starter or fuel pump, but not sure.

If your security light is on it may be your key that's preventing the car from starting. It's programmed with a code to prevent theft (Pass II theft deterrant system or something like that). So either the key is screwed up or the module that reads it is screwed up - either way it will disable your ignition.

Factory alarm 97 grand prix

1st the system alarm is intagrated into the engine control electronics, it can not be disabled without poss damage to ther systems and controls, 2nd the most common cause of your issue is the sensor in the ignition lock cylinder being defective, this is the most common issue on all GM anti-theft systems.
