Question about 2004 Nissan 350Z

1 Answer

I had a oil change from Nissan dealership for my 350z 2004 turing and when i drove after oil change, car was loosing speed slowly and all the lights on odmoters came on and died. After i turned ignition off and started back, it worked. However, day after driving, samething happened again and it didn't start back up this time. After a while, I pumped the gas paddle few time,it started. I drove car to local midas and they say battery was low and changed it to new and charged me for $120.00. Does this all sound right to you? Please i need your opinion. I felt like i got taken adventage of.

Hey there, Thank you for taking the time to read and being supportive;) I guess having 350z 2004 yr with 55,500 miles on, it starts to acting up;)

Answering to your question, i don't hear any sqealing sound when i start. But however, they diagnosis with 'Drive belt' change/front breaks. rotors/ rear breaks fix!

Having friends to looked at moderately and since breaks are working normally w/o any shake or rattling, I'll wait tills before winter but will change the drive belt soon.

It's frustrating about not knowing much plus never know whether they are only trying to taken advantage of being an woman...

Does your 350z always make powerful muffler noisy when you get going and heavy car to drive?

    Thanks bunch again!

I think its your alternator or a sensor that is causing the problem, I would get a diagnostic check done and usually the codes narrow it down to the main problem. good luck i hope its nothing major

glad I could help :) One more thing does your car when you start it cold, does it sound like a belt is squeeling a bit? cuz you could always check your alternator belt, sometimes when they wear out a bit you lose some charge. Also you could change your positive/negative cables for the battery post, you could have a small surge or small crack that could also affect your battery and proper alternator function. good luch I hope you get her up and runnin soon :)

I have a 2007 Nissan 350Z that's hard to shift into 1st and 2nd gear when it's cold. Any suggestions

Oil thins as it gets warm, lowers the viscosity, gears then shift better. Check the gearbox oil, try a lower viscosity oil

The oil in the box is thinning as the box gets warm, Check grade of oil in gearbox, change oil for a lighter viscosity. It's somewhere to start.

I am thinking about buying a 2004 nissan maxima that has a speed sensor problem....I test drove the car today and there was slight jerking and the dealership told me this was because of the speed sensor...

Yes on both accounts. TIP: Get them to put in writing they will guarantee their repair for X amount of days, just in case sensor does not fix "jerking" problem or if comes back.

How do you change the fuel filter on a 2003 nissan 350z

350z's have an in-tank filter that by the book does not need changed. Only really needs changed as often as the fuel pump itself. If you really must know and are determined, try getting a service manual from a Nissan dealership or a Haynes manual
4 door 350z? WTF are you talking about one sir. And the next guy. No, it isn't a tall silver canister.

See if there are codes stored, pull them and start from there.

It may just be a bad vehicle speed sender to the speedometer.
