Check your coolant level when engine cold, low level coolant does not circulate very well at idle and will cause poor heating,at higher RPM water pump turns faster to help circulate.

The lighter fell out

its got hot and melted the plastic holding it in place. JB weld epoxy works great to "glue" it back into place, its very heat resistant.

Help, My airconditioner will not go to cold and always blows out hot air

Open the hood and find the "fix A/C button" and push it. There you go.

On the other hand your car is nearing 10 and that is when things begin to go wrong. You need to find a shop which does mainly heating and A/C work on cars, these are easily found in the yellow pages. Before you go dumping money trying to recharge it, someone who knows what they are doing needs to locate and replace any defective or leaking parts, then recharge the system.

The a/c light flashes on 2003 Outlander and it just blows hot air. If I play with the hot/cold temperature control knob by turning it back and worth a few times quickly; the a/c may work for a few hours....

The a/c light flashing is usually an indication that there is a problem with the compressor. However, when you recharged the system it worked. Start your car, lift the hood and turn the a/c on. Listen to insure that the compressor cycles properly without any unusual noises(click and whirl noise is normal) like a squeal. Cycles noise, compressor is fine. You more than likely have a clogged drain tube that you can run a wire up and drain; and you need to replace the a/c pressure switch because that is what is making you blow hot air. The a/c pressure switch is a typical problem on these Outlanders and people wind up replacing their compressor, when they only needed to replace a $25 part! Hope this helps solve the problem. GOOD LUCK!

Why there are 02 fans near radiator? What are the purposes? One is working and one is not.

Hi and welcome to FixYa I am Kelly.
You have 2 fans because one is the temperature controlled radiator fan that only runs when the engine water temp is above 160 deg. F. The water termperature controlled fan can run even with the ignition key OFF should the Engine water temp be too hot.
The 2nd fan is for your Air-Conditioner that should run when the cabin temp is set low enough for the Air-Conditioner compressor to run. This fan should run anytime the Air-Conditoner is switched on.
If your experiencing engine over heat problems when driving slow or sitting idle most likely the fan switch that is switched on by water temperature has failed. The fan switch controls a fan relay and if the relay fails the fan will not run. In this particular model there is a cooling fan module that controls the fan.
