This means that cars Powertrain Control Module has detected a fault in the transmission or one of the related electrical components. There will be diagnostic codes stored by the module when this occurs that will aid in diagnosis of the problem.

If you mean check lights etc. A code reader, scanner,or disconnect the battery. Probably will come back ,until you repair the problems, and LS's have a long list of issues.

What does it mean if transmission is locked have 2001 lincoln ls v8

Light next to cup holder? Advanced Traction Control. An option that Iam sorry I got ,and is pretty well useless, and that switch works backwards. Never know that reading the manual 50 times. Make sure it is not lit on dash or console and forget it. Part of the ABS system that makes things worse, rather than better. Don't get on a slippery surface with it on,or the rear brakes slam on and off and half the engine cylinders are killed and your stuck in the snow. Way to go Ford Engineers. Rather have a Toyota with a bad gas pedal.
