Check the wires going down to the cranck sensor. Wiggle the wire then try to restart.

The cranck sensor is located at the back of the engine. If the engine is a V8 the sensor is on the passenger side, if inline 6 it is on the driver side.

Starter problems, Suggestions???

Starters tend to fail intermittently. Yes, if it started after a "whack", I woul suggest replacing your starter. Make sure all connections are tight and of course clean terminals and cables.

2001 Mitsubishi aileron won't start turn over nothing lights work n eavrything already have checked the starter it's fine what other thing could it be

I HAVE AN ECLIPSE. Sometimes it the little stuff so lets try something.
  1. Your lights work ok but no start that's because your lights do not need 650 cold cranking AMPS to
  2. disconnect your battery cables. clean the posts and cables were they go over the posts till there silver. Use wire brush.
  3. reconnect and make sure they are tight.
  4. check for 12 or more volts at battery
  5. try a start
  6. if not clean and tighten other ends of cables and other wires to solenoid.
  7. try a start
  8. if not check for power 12 volts at the starter
  9. if not check the line power from the key
Hope this helps Mike

2002 yukon wont start drove it allday yesterday and last night .woke up headed to to work wouldn't start tried jumping it still kno start replace battery and still wont start

Is the starter engaging when you jump start it? You say you replaced the battery, is the cable ends clean? If the starter is engaging you have other problems, if its not then check out the starter/cables. Good luck!

My car was running fine all day yesterday until that night. I cut it off and it wouldnt start back up. Finally i got someone to give me a jump off and it worked but the dash lights kept on dimming in and...

You, my friend have a flat battery.

However, replacing the battery will not fix the problem, the battery is just a symptom, just like having cough syrup won't fix a cold, it will ojnly make your throat feel better.

What you need to do, is replace the battery, then get a multimeter, and check the voltage of the battery when the car is running at idle (in park/neutral), it should be 13.2-14.4v. If below this, im suspecting 12.0v or below, then you will have to have your charging system (alternator) checked.
