Problem for BMW 2001 325

2001 325 xi. Headlights are turned on. Hi-beam flickering.

2001 325 xi. Headlights are turned on. Hi-beam (outer bulbs) Headlights intermittently flickering on/off in unison. I think I hear a switch (passenger side) ticking each time the lights flicker. The flickering is becoming more frequent. It is happening in both low beam and high beam settings.
