Its -19 degrees and my 2011 Avenger is acting up

all I can say is that real cold temps are cars.Minor problems can turn out to be large ones.I\'d put car in a garage and let it warm up,and test it.

Freon level good but a/c works intermittently

Could be several things such as a weak pressure switch or weak clutch magnet.
You would need to check for power at the ac clutch when it stops working and then go from there.

2005 jeep liberty blows cold air through the heater.

could be the thermostat if it was just stating to go bad, could also be a vacume problem not letting the door for the ac/heat close all the way for a few min.and if its really cold out like below 35,then its going to take longer to warm up,my jeep takes like around 20 min at idle to warm up.yours could be a case of over cooling in cold weather too ie(electric fans on before it warms up)that would be the thermostatic sensor.

1993 Buick LesabreTransmission takes 20-30 minutes to warm up

I think you need to have the transmission filter changed, and right away. If that doesn't solve the problem, then have it tested at the transmission shop. Rick

1998 Volvo V70 A/C Intermittent

I had exactly the same problem. When your engine is cold and off check the gap on your ac compressor with a feeler gauge, it should be between 0.3 and 0.5mm. If it is larger you need to re-shim which invloves undoing a nut on the end off the compressor and removing the clutch plate, then removing the appropriate shims (look like washers) then replace. The reason it blows warm after 10 minutes or so is because the ac compressor gets hot and the clutch gap gets too large for the electro-magnetic clutch to engage. Some people would say that you need a new compressor but all you need to do is a re-shim.
