NO engine size stated. just V6,, V30 body.
the connector is called DLC, diag. Link connector.
it has may usages, not just the flash code, but is fully documented
and varies by engine option,
6 engines were offered, 2 are v6
2.0 L V6 gasoline (1VZ-FE)
2.5 L V6 gasoline (4VZ-FE) not posting liter size, make answers very very hard,
hint, never work on any engine not knowing which it is.
same for buying parts, x10

\the Toyota has 2 ways,
first off, info is in the FSM, (factory service manual)
and is on alldata.com, login and read. but
is common knowledge, (goggle, like 1mil hits?)
its a jumper wire. on most cars. a paper clip, unbent.

1: DASH CEL LMAP , FLASH CODES.
2: A SCAN TOOL
#1 IS FREE
#2 IS A $150 tool, or rent ,barrow, on any shop on earth can do.

here is a 1 click page, and engine type is needed.
http://www.troublecodes.net/toyota/

2nd google hit.
http://autorepair.about.com/library/a/1h/bl750h.htm

i use this scan tool, it works 100 times better than any flashing
bulb. shows all live sensors, etc.

I have a 2008 Impala LTZ 3.9 ltr engine. My engine light continues to come on. My mechanic tells me it is running ricj

Need to have a code, running rich could mean a lots of things, temp sensor, o2 sensor, fuel pressure to high, get the code and come back, if the mechanic wont give you the code for free, go to auto zone in your area, free code riding.

Engine running to rich

An engine running rich can be caused by many factors including the need to change plug wires, distributor cap, rotor, spark plugs.
if you want to know what happened i think you should buy a tool to read the fault code, if you need click here: OBDII Code Scanner

Engine wont stay on when started unless you step on the gas, service engine soon " light comes on.Scanned it and you get code po172 system too rich.

Okay, lets start with you checking the fuel preasure regulator, this is a common problem with these the regulator leaks and the vac line connected to it starts sucking gas into the intake, this causing it to run rich and depending on how bad the leak is it will stall engine at idle, remove the vacuum hose from regulator and start engine then see if gas shoots out the vac connection on the regulator, if it does then replace regulator, hope this helps.583ec1c.jpg

Runs rich, check engine light, shudder when idleing

On your fuel rail is a fuel pressure regulator. It is round metal part and will have a vaccuum hose on it. With the truck running pull the vaccuum line off of the regulator and see if any fuel comes out. If so replace the regulator. While a PCM can fail it is rare and you most likely have some other type of issue. There are some other sensors that can make it run rich but without any codes I can't guide you any better. Good Luck
