You can go to the parts store and get a recharge kit but you have to make sure you start on the low side.which is usually marked with a black cap hope this helps

How to recharge ac

There are many ways to recharge an ac system but to do it correctly is a bit more in-depth. You can read the ac tag under the hood of your vehicle and purchase a can of coolant then hook it up to the low pressure side as shown on the can. Start the engine and follow their instructions. If you have a leak you should add UV dye to the system to locate the leak then repair as needed. To recharge system I recommend purging the system to a proper catchment contaner, recycle the refrigerant as required. Put an ac manifold on the high and low ports of the ac system (they are sized to only fit in the proper location) then attach a moisture removing vacuum pump create a vacuum in the system of 20lbs at sea level or more. Close the high and low pressure valves and disconnect the vacuum pump connect the refrigerant to the vacuum line, start the vehicle, turn on the ac (fan on low) add the amount of refrigerant that your vehicle tag requires.

Warning light says Low Refrigerent-AC/Off. I tried to recharge the system but the Compressor won't engage, How do I get the Compressor to come on so as I can recharge the system. Is it a pressure swithch...

in order to recharge the ac you first must clear the trouble code for the ac off warning. when you get this warning the computer shuts down the compressor to keep it from running without the lubricant that is in the freon. clear the trouble code and the compressor will run and you can recharge the ac.

Air conditioner blower stopped working on 2004

If the blower works but its just not blowing cold air, its possible to recharge the AC system yourself. Most auto parts stores carry AC recharge kits. Instructions to recharge the AC are belowl

RECHARGING AC SYSTEM

1.Turn the truck on and turn AC on HIGH
2.Locate the low side AC line (will have a valve and cap similar to the cap on a tire)
3.Insert the oil or R-134A can to the hose (Do not turn the screw to puncture the can yet)
4.Insert the other end of the refill hose to the low side valve
5.Puncture the R-134A can with the screw on the refill hose
6.You should feel the system suction the refrigerant out of the can
7.Check for frost on the AC lines and the air blowing inside the truck
8.If frost develops and the air is cold, you've successfully recharged the system and disconnect the refill hose. DO NOT ADD MORE REFRIGERANT...overcharging the system will damage your compressor and will be less effective

Best of luck and enjoy your vacation.
Greg

Hopefully this answers your question and you're able to get your AC working again. Best of luck.

My air is blowing warm can i use 1342a?

The real answer to your question is yes, the kit may work. Here is why you shouldn't use a recharge kit: Theoretically, your vehicle's refrigerant (R134a) should last forever. Your AC system is a sealed unit and the refrigerant never gets used up. The only way you can lose refrigerant is by it leaking out of the system. However, if your refrigerant can leak out then air and contaminates can get in. This is bad. A recharge kit simply injects refrigerant into the system. It doesn't evacuate the system of any air and contaminates. This is critical. Your AC system should be hooked up to an AC machine in order to evacuate out all of the air and contaminates in the system. The machine will then hold a vacuum on the system to verify its integrity. Finally, the machine is able to inject new compressor oil that also contains a dye that will enable the leak to be located. If you use that recharge kit, you stand the chance of over pressurizing the AC system and causing premature compressor failure. This can be very expensive. Paying a reputable shop to evacuate and recharge your AC system is much less expensive. If your AC system hasn't operated in over 6 months, it's especially critical that you have the repair to your AC system performed correctly. Your AC system's seals may have dried out and the new compressor oil will be critical in helping to recondition those seals or the seals may need to be replaced. Good luck and hope this helps. keep me posted if you need help to recharge the system.

How to recharge the ac

reclarification. I will need to know what type of vehicle it is. Secondly, do you have the equipment to evacuate and then recharge the a/c system?

The system must be pumped down to 20 inches of vacumn for at least 1 hour before recharging the system.

This operation is highly regulated in most states now because of EPA issues.

How do I recharge the a/c on my 95 jeep GC?

If the AC is not blowing cold air anymore, then yes, recharging will help. However, the AC system is a sealed system and should never need recharging. So if it does need recharging, then there is a leak in the system somewhere that has to be fixed first. It can be a little pricy, so be sure to call around for quotes.
