P0340 code means "Something" is wrong in the timing...
from CMP (Camshaft Position sensor) to the crankshaft bolt.

Very first thing, verify connectors are clean and shiny.
clear all codes, even hard codes.

The TCS light is Traction Control System. It is a nusiance (in my opinion) that prevents tires from skidding in slick conditions. These cars seem to have very touchy electrical systems. That's all I can offer.

What you need to understand and ask yourself is,
---spark plugs,pcv,fuel filter etc are items that get
replaced at a certain time frame in years and milage.

They are called Preventative Maintenance Items,not
a fix for anything

You have a check light on. Not to be hurtful, but these
lights and others on your dash, have been there for 30 years now

That is where you always start
No lights on the dash first,then continue on if neccessary

Any light is a possible system malfunction and the days are
gone, when you can fix things in your diveway, unless you
know the technology
So have it scanned for codes, and find out what the real issues are

Sounds like the car is stuck in fail safe mode, most likely a problem with your eltronic throttle body or possibly airflow meter.

CHECK YOUR CLUTCH COOLANT FAN IT SHOULD HAVE RESISTANCE WHEN YOU TURN IT WITH YOUR HAND.IF ITS LOOSE AND WOBBLEY.NEED REPLACING.THAT CAN CAUSE CAR TO OVERHEAT.ALSO IF YOU LIVE IN HOT CLIMATE.YOU NEED 50/50 ANTIFREEZE AND WATER.TOO MUCH WATER CAUSE ENGINE TO OVERHEAT.YOU NEED ANTIFREEZE MIXTURE TO RAISE BOILING POINT.TO HELP ENGINE COOL BETTER.NOW THE STARTING PROBLEMS.CLEAN BATTERY CABLES IF CORRODED.IF THEY ARE OLD BEEN ON CAR A WHILE REPLACE THEM.IF BATTERY CABLES IS GOOD. HAVE STARTER CHECKED REMOVE IT TAKE IT TO AUTO ZONE OR ADVANCE AUTO PARTS.SOUND LIKE A BAD STARTER HIT IT WITH HAMMER AND IT CRANK.

With that many miles and years there are a lot of thoughts. If your tune up parts are old that would be the place to start; making sure there is no fouling of the plugs.

they may have damage a wheel speed sensor on installation, also are all tyres the same size?

It ken be many problems,bad contact ,clamping force,tcs/abs unit.
The best you ken do is conect the TECH2 to check def.codes!

all the sudden the check engine light came on and it started to idle funny and dying at stops. I had a diagnostic done on it and changed out the idle air control valve but it doent seem any different. and the check engine light is still throwing the same code. we adjusted the idle up so i could drive it with out it dying but it is still acting funny.
