You need to replace your camshaft position sensor. These sensors heat up and cut off the engine until the sensor cools down. This tends to happen with age. You can pick the sensor up from AutoZone for around $45. Thanks for using FixYa!

Service manuals by Haynes are the best.
Chilton makes a decent one.

Both should be available at your local parts store.

Basically they tear down and rebuild every component on the vehicle - and give you step by step illustrated procedures.

Thanks for using FixYa - please don't forget to rate your experience.

There are alot of different things that could be causing this!!!
are you running a full tank of gas all the time? or do you you frequently run the gas tank till it's almost empty??
if so your fuel pump could be shutting down because it's getting too hot!!
it also could be in your ignition system, the coil pack could be getting hot and shutting down!!!
or maybe your cam or crank sensor are shutting down after getting hot!!

Lookfor a light on the dash that says SECURITY or ANTITHEFT. If you see this light, that is a sign of a failed or failing antitheft system, which will disable your vehicle. This link explains

It sounds like you might have a bad pick up coil, control module or the EEC relay. When it won't start, I'd check to see if you are getting spark. Some parts stores such as Auto Zone can test the control module.
