Could be a number of things. If it cranks strong but won't start check the fuel pump and system relays { common }.

If those aren't the problems check your engine ground strap which is a braided wiring attaching your engine to the body of the car.

Check for break or greenish / bluish color for corrosion. If broken or in bad condition replace if corroded spray with electrical spray blot excess down with rag or paper towel and crank the car.

If those are not the problem check plugs and wires, points and rotor cap to ensure your engine is receiving proper ignition / firing. From there check the coil if needed.

If those aren't the issues check to ensure your electronic fuel pump[s] and filter are good.

Also it never hurts to get some fuel additive to ensure you're not dealing with bad fuel.

From what you're expressing your fix should be remedied in those measures.

This could possibly be the fuel pump relay. It's located behind the ashtray, it's the one on the right.
Try twisting it gently l/r while turning the engine over. If/when it works, give me the thumbs up:)

intermittents are sometimes hard to diagnose out !! and this seems as one , im curious though what made them wiggle the relays and fuses ?? was there a previous problem there ?? depending on year of manufacture of car , is weather or not the cars own pcu can help diagnose what made car stop , as later models "remember " what there last condition was that shut off engine , of course this requires diagnostic equipment to see this info that typically car owners don't own , but a qualified service tech does and knows how to use it to find your problem

Randomly won't start, happened after jumping dead battery

Probably the battery. Take it the chain auto parts place and they will test it for you.

1997 saturn sl did some errands, then wouldn't re-start

If it wouldn't start, you have to see if you are missing fuel or fire. Could be a bad sensor, or a bad fuel pump, or if the security light is blinking, a problem with the security system.

98 Jeep Cherokee Laredo 4X2 suddenly dies .....

It sounds like you have some **** in the gas tank that is being drawn to the pickup blocking it.
Have seen this and because it seems so random, it can drive ya nuts.

You might carry a coffee can with you and pull the line from the fuel rail when this happens stick it in the can and just have someone turn the key on for a few seconds.
Beware though, it comes out with force.

Also possible is a failed fuel pressure regulator.
Those aren't expensive and . . . well, not very good either.
