The way to replace the plate lights is to reach up under the rear bumper and grab the light assembly. Give it a gentle but firm twist to the left. Once it pops, pull it out and replace the bulb.

I have a 1983 Ford E150 and the taillight, sidemarker light, and licence plate light all on drivers side dont work

Sounds like you have already changed all those bulbs to no avail. Next is to suspect the wire.
There is a one wire that brings electricity to all those 3 items.
Your wires are color coded.
If you will take any old wire and run it from the bartttery positive ( + ) post to the back of the truck and skin a little insulation off the side marker or the license plate light wire, these should all light up..
Now, you will need to replace that broken wire that keeps these from working.
You need not replace the whole harness from under the dash, just run a wire from the other side of the truck that does work over to the side that does not.
Be blessed.

hi.
most cars run licence plate lamps on the same fuse as the tail lights.
if your tail lights work, then it is more likely to be a fault on the bulbs or bulb holders, or the wiring in that area, probably caused by the crash.

i would recheck this area first, using new bulbs to rule these out.

How do I change the rear licence plate bulb

It is located in the bulb holder (Rear bumber over plate), unscrew the bulb holder, and remove the bulb and put the new one in I think there are two screws holding this on. It is a quick fix. Replace the bulb with the exact one, they can match you up at autozone.
