When I am leaving in my truck of a morning or evening you have to crank on the motor for a few seconds before the engine will start up. Doesn;t matter if the engine is cold or hot. The truck has 155000 miles on it.

Try cycling the ignition on and off three times, Turn the ignition to the run till the check engine light turns off on the dash and then turn it off and do it again three times to pressurize the fuel line. Then start it, your fuel filter may be dirt or the fuel check valve at the fuel pump may be bad making you loose your fuel prime. Start with replacing the fuel filter first and let me know if that helps and let me know if cycling the ignition to pressurize the fuel line helped.

- If there is a Auto Zone around your area, lone out the fuel pressure gauge and do a fuel pressure check from the Shredder Valve. Auto Zone will have the step by step instruction to check your Fuel pressure and also check for the fuel pressure drop. If it's drops too quick, you may have a bad fuel pressure regulator or a bad check valve at the fuel pump. Thinking that it's going to be the fuel pump since they have a life of around 150,000 miles. Keep me posted, be glad to help.If you do have to replace the fuel pump, it's in the gas tank but you don't have to drop the gas thank. Just you and a few friends can lift the bed of the truck, there is like around 8 bolts holding the bed to the frame.

THIS PROBLEM IS ALMOST ALWAYS DUE TO A FAILED FUEL PUMP PRESSURE CHECK VALVE, REPLACE THE FUEL PUMP.
