I looked over your vin and it is NOT a VIN number for an 1983 Model......the truck with that VIN is posted here is from 1976-1980....

I checked carfax and it doesn't recognize the VIN because it only reads VINs with 17 characters in it and that started in 1981.

This is a cut and paste from that website:

The VIN must be from a car or light truck manufactured for the North American market since 1981.

The VIN must be exactly 17 characters in length

My 2007 hyundai entrouage vin number is coming up a kia. and need to get proof that it is a hyundai.i need some thing that says that even thought it comes up kia it is a hyundai

Did you purchase this van new? If not, have you ran a carfax or carcheck vin number history report on this car? All Hyundai vehicles have their own manufacturer prefix in the VIN; Hyundai is- KM8, and KMH. Kia is- KNA, KNB, and KNC. They are the most popular prefixes for Hyundai/Kia produced minivans in South Korea. If this van has Hyundai emblems on the exterior, and on the horn pad, I would be very suspicious of what happend to it. If the VIN is decoding a Kia, you have problems. Either this Hyundai van was stolen, and someone used a Kia VIN plate on it, or you have a Kia van that was totaled in an accident, and was reconstructed from Hyundai van parts. Check the drivers door manufacturer label, there should be a VIN on that sticker as well, and should match what your VIN plate behind the windshield states. (You could be reading the VIN over the phone to someone, and they are getting the M's and N's mixed up, or the B and 8. KM8, and KNB look similar.) Have someone else look at the numbers for you, just to be sure. Good luck! Hope this helps!

Where is the location of factory code for 2009 Ford Fusion? I bought the car used and there is no card with the factory code.

Not sure of what factory code your refering to. Most info you need is on your VIN plate. You can call your dealer and they will decifer it for you. You can view your vin plate looking from the outside in through your windshield on the drivers side lower corner

It is stamped on the top of the engine, in the head. It is usually pretty easy to find, and you wont have to remove any pieces to see it.

Decifering the "build" codes on Toyota Tacoma

I would call the dealer parts dept. they should be able to tell you what you need to know. there may be a difference in gear ratio for each engine/ trans combination. A salvage yard may be able to help you , they should have a computer system showing what rear is compatible. there should be a code on the axle housing itself.
