It may be an intake leak. Oil maybe leaking into the radiator. You need to replace the intake gasket.

GM fan switch resistors are a well known weak link. Im not sure where they mount in your Monte Carlo but on other GM models they are under the dash, passenger side and are usually fairly accessible.

1987 monte carlo heater control blows out everwhere

The vacuum motor is located under the dash in a most inaccesable location. Will be located above the air ducts about center dash. Follow the heater control vacuum hoses to the motor unit. Remember that it is connected by linkage to an air duct.

My 1998 Monte Carlo only blows air from the defrost and floor vents but not out pof the middle vents. Can anyone help me please?

It's most likely a vacuum line, look under your hood (close to the cowl panel) for a disconnected, cracked or broken vacuum line.

In some rear cases, it could be the vacuum switch (in dash). Or vacuum diaphragm (under dash).

Hope this helps you ???

1998 chevy monte carlo , can not switch

Problem is in the vaccum feed pipe (Cracked) or the actual control panel.

Have you tried the heat also? If neither blow out, chances are it's the resistor on the blower motor. Mine went out in my 2001 Monte Carlo about two weeks ago and sure enough it was the resistor! The part runs around $35. Installation will vary depending on where you take it to.

Hope this helps!
