1996 Dodge Dakota A/C blower motor problem

OK...i have a 1996 Dodge Dakota 2 wheel drive with a 318 engine..and the A/C clutch will not pull in..and there is no power on either little wire going to the A/C compressor...also the blower motor will not work..there is power going to the blower motor..and the old motor was siezed up and has been replaced...but there is power going to the blower motor even when the blower select switch is selected to the "OFF" position..and i do not have an A/C and blower motor electrical wiring diagram..all i have is a Haynes Manual...also there is power going to the A/C "Ice Cube" relays and the fuse for the blower motor in the power distribution box thats under the hood.....also i checked the continuity of the blower resistor..but i didnt get varying resistance..all the legs would peg the ohm meter out...and i also serviced the A/C system with R134A and that didnt help..and i was wondering if i have 2 problems or something that was comon to both problems....and help would be greatly appreciated..thanks

Well...i fixed my own problem...without a wiring diagram..but the A/C and blower motor do have something in common..its the blower low and high switch....i removed the switch..and sure had been over heated from the blower motor locking up..and the fuse not blowing...and to make a long story short...ya cant get the switch from anywhere..and ya have to buy a whole A/C unit from Dodge at a cost of $279.00 plus tax..which is **** i went to a junk yard..and i found an older Dodge Dakota..with the same A/C unit..and i removed the blower switch(i dont like to buy electrical things from a junk yard) that looked in good home and installed//and everything worked as hope this will help someone that has the same problem

You may have 2 problems - the blower motor I believe should have power all the time and the speed is controlled by grounding the circuit through the various resistors. I think you need to get some wiring diagrams.

Check the battery by load testing it, any Autozone can perform this test free of charge. Also make sure the battery cables are clean and tight, pull them off and clean them to be sure.

1996 dakota, 318 engine, auto trans. while accelerating it bogs down and sometimes backfires. after driving for a bit, if you come to a stop it just shuts off. I unplugged all sensors at throttlebody 1 at...

You didnt mention if the check engine light is on, make sure there are no bare or damaged wires anywhere in the electrical system, also make sure the ground wire on the back of the engine to the body is connected. if that is all ok then its the hall effect sensor in the distributor. Simple fix about 30 minutes.
Good luck dont forget to rate.

I have a 1993 Dodge Dakota pickup with a 318 C.I.D. engine, two wheel drive. My blower motor for the A/C - heater is not working. Where is this motor located and what does it look like?

look under the hood on the fire wall on the passenger side of the car if its not there then try under the dash on the passenger side of the vehicle as far as what it looks like youll know it when you see it it protrudes out and it has a wire plug harness on it.

Severe oil leak form the rear of the engine of a 1996 Dodge Dakota V8

Your rear engine seal is probably shot. I wish I could tell you that it's an easy job to fix. You "could" try some of that engine stop leak stuff which is supposed to repair dried out seals, but I have never had luck with that stuff.

You'll probably need to get the seal replaced, which involves pulling the transmission off. Luckily its a rear wheel drive truck - it's no where near has hard as a front wheel drive!!
