Air conditioning blows warm in hot temperatures

My 1995 Mercedes E300 Diesel has been in the shop numerous times for A/C problems but no one can fix it. The A/C stops working usually in hot temperatures but blows cold when the outside air is cool. It sounds like a heat related switch of some kind.

I plan on buying a mercedes 230e who's aircon is not working. The car is in an excellent condition, but the broken aircon puts me off in buying it. I would like to know if it would be worth it to buy the car and get the aircon fixed. What would that typically cost me?? please see the link below and tell me what you think, I am not an expert on mercs.

I have a 1995 300E Diesel that had the same issue. The air conditioning would all of a sudden stop working; then, it would start working now and then. Very frustrating. The dealer finally found out that the problem was electrical. I don't know the particulars, but the tachometer was also effected by this electrical problem - not a fuse, though. I hope this helps you.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

No air, now it works.

It sounds like the air temperature control blend door actuator or blend door may be sticking. Only a shop will be able to confirm this. I will note that your post is very confusing and provides little info that can be clearly understood about what is going on here. You may need to read what you wrote and clarify it a bit. Thanks

Air condition blows out warm air

The AC compressor automatically engages when you have your car in the defrost setting regardless of what the temperature setting is, it removes moisture from the air that's coming out to keep your windows from fogging up.

Rear air conditioning blowing hot air

I suggest that you take the Vehicle to a Reputable A/c Repairer, NOT a Muppet Shop, as I call them occassionally.
Request a CHECK and ADVISE ONLY. on the system. This will determine the exact fault[s] in the system.
From you comments, I would expect to find a Reducing Freon flow, through a probable Expansion valve failing.
Then you can decide, if on nearing the end of the HOT period, having the Diagnostic done, is the expense justified now, or can it wait until later.

this is the probleme with luxury cars ...the venting systheme works with vacum and some thime smal electris motor ...if one is broken or a hose craked ...this kind of stuff appens not much to do but to take the under dash apart and look for the problem, it could also just need a little lubrification on all the moving parts !

Only cold air from my heater on e300 turbo diesel

The Most common Cause for your Heat to stop blowing, is low engine coolant. If there is not enough coolant in your system, your heater coil will not function. Check the level of your Engine coolant.

Use on of those quick freon kits that come with the fill tube and gauge. It sounds like you have a slow leak and on a hot day there is enough pressure in the system to trip the switch. If thats not the problem check the wiring coming from the switch. The switch is probably near the filter/dryer. Thats the metal canister that sweats liquid on a hot day.
