Question about Honda Civic

Civic 95 lx 1.5 engine dies when iddling

Hi my civic has started to die while iddling anywhere and it is getting worse, mostly with the a/c on but has done it without it lately, sometimes at highway speed it sputters a bit, is there anyway to increase the idle speed perhaps it is just the ECM that fails to adjust the idling speed
Thanks
Wycito

Check the IACV, its located at the throttle body, facing the firewall. They get junked up with carbon. Just clean it up with carb cleaner and bleed out the air from the coolant.

I have a 97 honda civic lx, and i can"t get it to start.can anyone help me out with what to do??

3 things make an engine start : compression wich is lost slowly and seems not the case here , fuel : take off the air filter and tube leading to the intake manifold , insert 2 table spoons of fuel and with nobody face near it start the engine , if it start and died , the problem his fuel pump , fuel pump fuse , injectors or the computer circuit and finaly spark , test the sparkplugs and coils .

My 95 honda civic coupe died on me then when i

put a nother battery in it. start the car. then be quick and while the car is running. remove the +(posotive) wire from the battery. if the car stays running you have a bad battery. if the car dies instantly, you need a new alternator.

My 1998 Civic HX Auto Trans, when in drive the engine revs up & down at a very low rpm from 500 to 1000 unless I put in neutral. Problem seems to get better after a trans flush & worse the colder...

most likely its a vac leak. start the car get a spray bottle with some water spray the engine and if it dies then u have a vac leak. which is farely easy to fix. your engine has nurmerous vac lines if it does die just start searching for a broken skinny rubber hose or one to have came off.

check your wiring for dirty connections or broken wires, you may have wires that are rubbed through or connectors that are not making full contact. you will need an ohm meter and check wires for continuity. a wiring diagram will be needed.

95 civic wont start

An engine needs 3 things to run: Fuel, compression, ignition.

Maybe the timing belt went out. Take off the dist cap and see if the rotor turns as you crank the engine.

Next run a compression test on all the cylinders.

Definately have broke the timing belt. The turning over faster did it for me. That is a clear sign the timing belt broke.
